It's a self-propagating meme that was extremely exaggerated in parodies, so now even people who never played OoT know her as "that annoying fairy that never shuts up". It's like "the water temple is super duper hard", it's just a meme that got out of control.

I've never met a lolifag that wasn't a complete prick and extremely annoying to interact with, but I think it's more due weebness than anythign else. Lolifags are always about the 2D, and I don't say that in the sense they should look for 3DP of little girls, but that they never, ever considerate anything outside their loli pics.

I always had the impression the reason people complains about her is because it's one of the few, if not the only actual spoken words in the entire game.
The game has a lot of iconic sounds, but the "hey! Listen!" are the only actual words said and since it comes from navi, anyone who ever booted the game would recognize her.

Well ofc it should be compared to the game it derives the most from. It’s also a lot like assassins creed odyssey what with the level gated campaign. Botw is a better game for sure but Genshin is free if you’re not a compulsive gambler
