Anybody with experience in RPGs with customization should be aware that the majority of players are white males aged 18 to 49 and that the majority of humans will want to self insert when given the option. Changing the default option probably came as a large surprise. There's been a popular theory that players will just go with the default option to begin and customize their character with armour and weapons as the game progresses. The majority of players actively changing the skin colour, hair and face of the template probably came as a surprise to Larian. I wonder how many players took the unedited human?
