The just chatting section is the most popular because literally everybody utilizes it at some point during their stream. If you stream for 8 hours every day then there is inevitable downtime between games while you eat or whatever. People stick the chatting category on for this, but if you combined all the people playing games at once into one number and compared it against the just chatting number, it wouldnt be comparable
Also a category is heavily influenced by who exactly is streaming, a tiny shitty free unknown indie game can be at like 20k viewers because of a single popular streamer on that category

"Just Chatting" doesn't literally mean chatting. It can mean the streamer is doing something that doesn't fit into any gaming category. Like, they're editing something, talking about the game while not playing it, or just jerking off.
Some female streamers just record themselves sleeping and they get $4k in donations over 6 hours.
