Just brought a gamecube

Sup Zig Forums, I've never had a gamecube growing up, but i just picked up pic related with Zelda Wind Waker + OOT, Pokemon Colosseum and a Sonic Heroes.
What else should I pick up or do with the console? Im waiting for a HDMI adaptor and a memory card off amazon. What are some hidden gems on GC and why the fuck is pokemon XD Gale like $100?

Kirby's Air Ride, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King are some of my childhood defining games that I owned
I rented and really enjoyed F-Zero GX and Custom Robo

Wave Race Blue Storm, I had tons of fun with it and I usually don't care about sport games. The rest is stuff you probably already played elsewhere, like Killer 7, Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil 0/4 and remake1.

Shoulda bought a wii

This.

Got 2

Metroid prime 1 and 2

Monkeyball

Luigi's Mansion
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II
Mario Sunshine

Thousand year door, kirby's air ride, Luigi's mansion, pikmin 1 and 2, metroid prime are all masterpieces

One cannot emphasize this enough

Then why did you get a gamecube. A wii is literally an overclocked gamecube and easier to play roms

Its wierd how GC seems to have stuff like need for speed and resident evil on it. And just other random shit i wouldnt have expected.

I'd recommend Gotcha Force but it'd probably run you like 120 dollars minimum.
>why the fuck is pokemon XD Gale like $100?
Same as gotcha force. It was kind of a sleeper hit and didn't have that wide of a release.

Never played it but people say Geist is good

I wanted the experience of actually owning one, and didnt wanna bother looking at sone indian's YT tutorial to mod a wii.

or use the dolphin emulator

Seems pretty cool. Does it run well on Dolphin?

What the fuck is Gotcha Force? Im 27 btw so not some zoomer, i just never saw the show or whatever.

Wow that actually looks alright.

Gamecube got me into Resident Evil. Remake, 2, 3, 4, Code Veronica and 0 all on one console. I didnt have a Playstation before so this was all new shit to me. I played RE more than anything else that gen. Even did invisible enemy hard in REmake.

>$120
Hahahahaha

Wii's much better and will literally run the same games at higher framerates.

It's really not that hard.

What the hell...

I did it when I was literally 11 years old, user.

It's an overclocked gamecube, that isn't even a joke. It's the same processor with a die shrink and some extensions at a higher clock

Do the games run better on emulator than through the disc loader or what am I missing?

>What else should I pick up or do with the console?
Sonic Riders (Original was the only good one)
SADX/SA2B, followed by a marathon of youtuber rants about 06.
Paper Mario: Thousand-Year Door
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody
Sonic Gems Collection
Melee (Just to have it)
Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2
Frequently see what old flash games you can play, and marathon Inuyasha and Case Closed.
While you're at it, try to get some VHS tapes of the old Sonic and Megaman cartoons (end with Megaman EXE and Sonic X), and nab an early DS to add to the experience.
>and why the fuck is pokemon XD Gale like $100?
Because it's the best Pokemon game of the franchise.

No im sure it isnt. I remember hearing about homebrew for wii years and years back. I just wanted to actually physically own one, i coulda just got dolphin if i wanted to just play the games.

should have just downloaded Dolphin lol

Emulation is still hacky and inaccurate so a Wii is better. Games load faster on a Wii too and through the Nintendont software, the Gamecube games are given access to the Wii's higher clock speeds and memory allowing them to compensate for framedrops they get on the Gamecube.

>What are some hidden gems on GC
Practically every good game.
By which I mean, other than the big hitters like Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart etc, most of the truly great games on Gamecube sold fewer than 2 million copies worldwide.

Futuristic multiplat motorbike racer XGRA
F-Zero GX
Metroid Prime 1 + 2
Killer 7
Viewtiful Joe 1 + 2
Battalion Wars (3D Advance Wars)
MGS Twin Snakes
Mario Party games are decent couch fun with girlfriend/wife
Super Monkey Ball
Pikmin 1+2
Wario Ware
Tales of Symphonia

Eternal Darkness
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
Battalion Wars
Star Wars Rouge Leader
