Kinda. It a huge downgrade in a way. Onky a few airstrike are actually useful like the anti air and tank airstrike

Any new stuff to toy around with?
If it's just the same as the first one but with less features it's probably not worth a play.

You are limited with gas and money for the airstrike and they have a really small range/aoe. It fun to drive around shooting and blowing stuff up. Civilian are invincible and when you hurt one you pay the hospital bill and the more you hurt them the more expensive it gonna cost. You can end up paying millions for bruising them

I always thought Mercenaries had more potential than it let on. GTA with destructible world? Sign me the fuck up.

It's worth looking into but as someone who recently downloaded and played through about 75% of it, the first game is infinitely better. The gas/money restrictions aren't as bad as most people say but the airstrikes are indeed mostly useless. Most of the combat vehicles aren't great either as they're very slow and very limited in effective ammunition.

Tell that to all the assholes who just say "play Just Cause lol" like it's even remotely the same. Though now that I think about it I don't think I'd mind giving them the license.

There's a certain atmosphere of the first game... the location, soundtrack, etc.

Sixth generation developers could put out mid-tier games with this amount of quality, whereas nowadays games with bigger development times and budgets are dogshit - the industry is in such a disgraceful state.

I felt like I had to use every air support i ever unlocked to beat that. Then after fighting my way tooth and nail the payday more than made up for the money id blown going through.

AA games back then had original mechanics while now are just rip off of most popular games

The deck of 52 was a great idea that barely anyone copied for some reason. It's perfect for open world games.

Pulling off the perfect extraction of a target was so fucking satisfying. And the friendly AI always made me feel safe.

It needs a remaster, god I want to play it at a decent resolution.

Xbox One X or Series X is 4k.

The atmosphere was a definite 10/10.

Second game was fun, I have fond memories of playing through the entire game with my friend in co-op, bugs and all, but the first game was definitely better
