I mean, the problem is that nobody is trying to reinvent the wheel. that's the philosophy of modern video game companies. they want to get rich by making an especially shiny version of something that has been tried and tested, rather than think outside the box and innovate to push the medium forward. do you blame rockstar for this? no, they're just another company doing the exact same thing as everyone else; slinging shiny turds. it's reminiscent of that one "EA in a nutshell" video that got popular some time ago, only the entire industry operates in this way and not just EA.
