It's not outlandish at all. Steam basically has a monopoly on the entire PC game market, which would be like every gamestore worldwide 30 years ago having the same owner, except:
- that market is MUCH bigger now
- instead of taking razor thin margins, they take a whopping 30% of EVERY transaction
- that includes 30% on microtransactions and subscription costs on every steam game.
You lot are really underestimating how aburdly large Valve's profit margins are.
