I just realised narrative wise there is little reason to join the goblins and the Absolute at the start. They never reveal that they know the tadpole inside you can grant you more powers until you kill everyone in the Grove. They should make it more evident at the start that the goblin group can fuel the powers the tadpole gives you. At least then the player can make the choice of help people and remove the tadpole or keep it in for power and betray the grove.

You can find a good mind flayer in the Underdark.

Why the hell would an evil character side with the goblins? They wouldn't.

Both good and evil characters have the same goals, remove the parasite. The best option seems to be Halsin. Both good and evil will need to rescue him. The differences in methods are interesting actually.

Good options are obviously just kill the goblins, rescue Halsin, rescue everybody, save the tieflings and, if you are feeling particularly altruistic, accept no reward other than Halsin's help.

The evil option currently is to be stupid and help the mind controlled goblins slaughter the druid grove for the evuls.

In my opinion, the evil option should be about minimizing risks that your goals will not be achieved, after all the druid might not be fully willing to help you. You might actually capture the true souls and lead the goblins yourself to take over the grove. Force Halsin to experiment on the other true souls while you hold his grove hostage. You could trick Minthara into an exposed position as a double agent and capture her. Steal volo's potion of invisibility and use the herald of pain to torture and extract priestess Gut. You could Illithid parasite mind control the hobgoblin into outing himself as the Illithid's killer. In the end, you now control a goblin troop and have secured Halsins help via force. All while being pragmatically smart, cruel, and calculating.

Allying with the goblins to just butcher people for no reason is just insane and not evil.

Why do people play early access? Just wait until the final game when a ton of bugs and other things have been fleshed out. Makes no sense but I guess no life consoomers have to fill their time some way.

This. Lae'zel might not be a likable person, but at least she sticks up to her convictions. She is also the only companion that has clear goal set that she sticks by. Also the only one who isn't trying to be le sassy character 24/7h.
Shadowheart feels to me like failed attempt at creating Morrigan 2.0. Bitchy tsun companion with questionable origins that likes edgy options and hates goodness, when in reality she wants another thing.
