The first time playing two when I got to that part of the game it made it seem like iorveth was heading directly after lotho and triss while Roche sounded like he was going to keep fucking around in flotsam for a while. Since my goal was to rescue triss and clear my name I went with what felt like the most direct route.
I also feel like iorveths side of chapter 2 is more interesting than roche's.
