What went wrong?
the incels who play it
Tloo many characters
Impossible for a meta to develop or understand every matchup.
nothing really i think this is a solid game i dont really like fighting games or party games but this game is pretty good nice selection of characters nice game play cool single player mode lengthy OST honestly if the community around the game was better i would play it more often its pretty good
no Goku
that no smash will top it. its only downhill from here.
Forced input lag, really low hitstun
Nothing. It's literally the best Smash game, content wise.
+ lots of gimmicky characters and platforms stop your movement most of the time
Not much. Fun game. Nintendo's shit online service mostly.
Sounds ideal. The online has been working smoothly for me lately as well. Not sure what changes they made.
>platforms stop your movement most of the time
That's literally every smash game though
Dude I hope Sakurai jumps ship after this game, it's so obviously downhill from here that I hold no hope, not in a negative manner that I want it to fail, but in that they can't top this game, and I have no reason to set my expectations at all.
i always here about how bad the online is i never have problems with it its most likley just me tho since it seems that everyone else hates it with their core being
bad gameplay
in melee it feels more fluid, i phrased it wrong but like dropping down from it to follow a move doesn't feel as right in ultimate
Bad game, bad online.
because you're genuinely braindead. that's why, not even saying this to insult you. You are more than likely dogshit if you can't feel that online almost doubles your input lag.
How bad the input lag?
*every smash game that's not 64 or melee
the input lag is of about 7 frames iirc? 13 online?
no your right i really dont notice input lag unless it makes the game unplayable i also suck at the game so that dosent help
>meleefag
melee exists so there's something to compare it to
also forgot to add the buffer system makes it so that coupled with the input lag you sometimes pick an option that you didn't want, it's the same reason why you can't full hop aerial attack because it'll come out as a short hop aerial and also when you land if you want to dodge at the last second it sometimes dodges/shields or rolls because you pressed the stick just a tiny bit
i play both and i'm better at ultimate than melee, i also play ultimate the most but if you can't acknowledge its flaws then you don't care about the game
no momentum
ordering the roster in a stupid way and not letting us reorder it in a way that makes sense, same with stages
not having a coherent music style
What determines whether a stage is good or not going by your list? Music? Presentation? Layout?
Smash hasn't had a coherent music style since Melee
>Smash hasn't had a coherent music style since Melee
Yes, and I hate it.
fire emblem
I like the variety.
I'd agree that a coherent style would be nice but it'd probably be way too much work given how many franchises are in smash today. But Pokemon has suffered the worst from how music has been handled from Brawl onwards.
I would have liked a more robust single-player experience and I think it would be better if arenas had two rings instead of one.
WTF is this bros?
Nobody told these people Smash is not a fighting game?
>Why are you playing Ultimate? We have a Melee setup over here.
>This is your absolute last chance to get your never-ever in Smash as we know it
I'm with you here. I have a very good connection and if the guy I'm playing with has a good one as well, there's no problem at all.
positives
+lots of stages
+fuckton of characters
+balance isn't totally fucked like 64,brawl,4, and melee to an extent, most characters are at least "alright"
-gameplay isn't as deep
-fewer true combos
-no advance movement
-input buffer is gay
-dumb singleplayer
when project u or whatever is made somewhere down the line it'll be the best smash game
