Is this game worth getting...

Is this game worth getting? I was gonna skip it but then Nagoshi said it was amazing and now I kinda feel like I have to play it.

form your own opinions instead of listening to orange michael jackson

Its comfy. Not the greatest game ever or anything but its a nice setting with decent combat. If your a fan of decent open world games its not bad pick up.

The only way I can form my own opinion would be if I played the game myself, which would defeat the entire purpose of me deliberating over whether to get it or not.

everyone loves it to death
big update coming with mp

gee I wonder

look at the cover art
do you like it? buy it
if you're disappointed sell it

It will be GOTY. The setting, story, graphics, music, and voice acting are the best I've seen in 5 years.

It's okay. Game looks great but it's basically the same open world adventure you've played a million times over but now with samurai but also with none of the stuff that actually made them interesting.

decent combat.
Compared to bloodborne this is hot steaming garbage

Watch some gameplay on youtube and decide if it's the kind of game you want to sink time into.
Not a chance. It'll look too sketchy for it to win considering a game set in feudal Japan already won last year.

its literally every open world game ever made, but with better graphics and slightly better combat.
Still it does not actually compare to games with good combat

No, everybody on this website is a fucking weeb they hype shit up more than it actually is if its a game set in Japan. Its a solid game but defnitely not a must-play that the retards on this board think it is.

Yeah yeah yeah x souls game is the greatest thing ever. We know.

the combat in GoT is closer to an ass creed game.
Keep those sony blinders on though

Bloodborne combat is better, but not by much.

I dont understand this claim
Care to elaborate?

it's fucking fantastic but as of now has basically zero replay value, the cop op mode getting added friday might help it but i don't see the point of going through the story again now that i've beaten it. Also the hardest non one hit kill difficulty feels fucking fantastic at first but then gets too easy as you get upgrades.

played on og ps4, felt like the game suffers more from less than ideal framerate on it than anything really. i did not expect to like it so much, it's a great game

The trick is to never upgrade the katana. It's as powerful as it needs to be at base level.

Its only competition this year is TLOU 2 because politics. Doom Eternal would be its true competition in a perfect world but it will be passed over.

Except with the update in 2 days they're adding multiplayer.

i think i hated how much more health you have more than anything, only being able to take like 3 hits and heals being extremely limited because you had so few orbs felt like the perfect difficulty but you lose that quickly as you play through the game

Ohhh boy multiplayer... seriously? what does this accomplish?
If anything the game will be easier with friends

its only good if the story interests you. The combat alone is not good enough to carry the game, and the world is gorgeous but empty and monotonous.

>some literal who faggot said

End your life.

This game is absolutely mediocre. So says some other literal who faggot

Combat boils down to sidestepping enemy attacks and mashing r1, with the occasional gun counterattack. It's the difficulty that makes it seem more interesting than what it is.

THEYRE BOTH SONY GAMES YOU FUCKING IDIOTS

Easy GOTY contender

They're releasing a co-op mode for free on Friday

I love the open world but red dead spoiled me

>Its only competition this year is TLOU 2
FFVIIR is there too

I have a bad feeling TLoU2 is gonna sweep though just because journalists

Sucker Punch absolutely deserves to win GOTY for Ghost

Here is what you dont understand.
When people think of good combat they get it all wrong.
People say God of war (ps4) has good combat, and when you ask them why they list the advanced combo maneuvers you can pull off, the in depth skill tree, the weightiness of how attacks feel against enemies, and the satisfyingl feel but this is all wrong.
Pretty much any fighting action game feel good when you hit shit, and theres a ton of customization in most modern games but they all still fail like god of war, why? simple because theres 0 challenge.
Take the souls franchise, it has the simplest combat design ever, even simpler than ass creed games.
What sets it apart from other games??
It simple two main things the level design, and the challengingly designe AI.
Boss fights are tough as nails fast paced and hard but fair. Its addicting to lose and ponder what you did wrong only to go back for another slice of pie.
Cuphead
Bloodborne
Sekiro
These are all games the have A+ combat, yet compared to god of war, ghost of tshumia, or any ass creed game most people would say the combat is basic.
Again boss design, enemy design and level design.

>The setting
Nothing special about it, especially the third island
>story
Its nothing special either, in fact, the longer the game goes on, the worse the story gets.

>simple because theres 0 challenge.
The Valkyries were kind of tough

>Story
Mundane jap war story with ugly "hyperrealstic" characters Likethe longer it goes on the worse it gets
>Gameplay
Go play sekiro, bloodborne, nioh, monster hunter, cuphead, or dmc you wont find any gameplay of value here
>Setting
Graphics are good yes, but its a boring empty world congrats just like 95% of open world games

It's a competent open world. It's not for everyone but this game is very accessible and the story is easily to digest. If you've had the fantasy to play an open world big budget samurai game there is no alternative.

My condolences for your shit taste

I will give you that.
but those were the only challenging bosses.

I completely understand the difference challenge makes for a game. Doesn't change the fact that the tactics never evolve past dodge and mash r1.

>Doesn't change the fact that the tactics never evolve past dodge and mash r1.
Thats the beauty of the game they dont have to.
Old hunters bloodborne dlc is literally the best piece of action combat gameplay ever made

Pretty nice art direction, pretty boring generic open world game. The combat is passable compared to Witcher 3 or something, but still pretty bland.

This but unironically
