Inquisition has many problems but for some reason the Templars you ally with are legit brave and good guys who stood up against demonic corruption while the Mages are complete and utter morons who would otherwise willingly become slaves and backstab you for no good reason. Saving the Templars is the morally rewarding choice (probably not intended kek).

This is my main issue with mages in these games. The developers and the community falsely see mages as this unfairly discriminated against minority that should be allowed to roam freely. This simply isn't feasible.
In Redcliffe, one UNTRAINED boy brings the entire city to its knees by consorting with a demon in the fade. The whole city falls to an undead army brought about by the demon.
In the DAO Mage Origin, Jowain casually paralyzes a battalion of mages and templars to escape by using blood magic.
In Inquisition we see a fucking mage stop time and even travel backwards through time to change the outcome of situations.
It was the tevinter mages who went to the black city and accidently created the darkspwan whilst trying to gain immorality...

The funniest thing with this mentality the games have is in DA2 where it becomes the main focus. Time and again mages are portrayed as poor wittle babies trapped in cages who must spread their wings and fly! Yet, because it's a big dumb action game, almost every single quest involving mages ends with them going insane, turning to blood magic, and summoning hordes of fuck off demons and monsters. Then it's right back to ''muh oppression' narrative. Even fucking siding with the mages when Meredith does the right of annulment has Orsino go full retard and use blood magic lol.

If DA2 had come out like, five years later people would be calling it the most unintentionally racist game of all time because mages only make up like, 12 percent of the population in Kirkwall and make up 52 percent of the crime.
