Console is easy, casually pick up the controller, press the button then stroll over to the fridge to grab a coke or Fanta while the menu loads up on your 65" TV. Select game and that's it.
PC is a different story. Hunting out bug fixes while hunched over a tiny 1080p screen; oh wow the high FPS sure makes up for that. And imagine playing a game like God of War with a mouse & keyboard. This even -feels- like work, you spend the day at an office job, then you "relax" by cramping your hand to play with a mouse.
I can (and have for friends) do Windows 10 tech support due to the sheer volumes of issues I have had with it. 8 wasn't a peach either. Still can't get diablo 2 working when it stopped all of a sudden.

It took me like a year or so to figure out that if I restart windows explorer in the task manager it fixes my weird problems such as not being able to open or create files in Photoshop and certain games rapidly switching between keyboard and mouse controls. Still haven't figured out what's causing it but at least it's not as big of a headache.

It's true. Progression in gaming has been deminishing returns since 2007. Everything is slightly bigger faster and prettier, but essentially the same and it has been for 13 years. Games from 2007 still hold up perfectly today, the next step would be VR but it's immature. The only reason I would consider getting a PC is VR, when it's more mature - though when it matures it will also be on consoles in good quality, ie will never need a gaming pc.
A PS4/XB1 is perfectly fine for enjoying gaming for another 5 to 10 years. If you buy a PS5 or Xbox SeX or build a gaming pc you're a huge consumer cuck falling for the newer shinier thing meme as 'flat' gaming hasn't changed in 13 years.
So wait for VR to mature and in the meantime just spend your money on something worthwhile instead of a new console or a new gfx card.

He's full of shit. 99% of the time shit runs without a hitch and all you need to worry about is whether your PC has sufficient specs to run whatever you're trying to run. The last issue I had was trying to boot up DOOM 2016 last night. Seems the problem was because I've had to switch to a smaller and lower res monitor recently as my main one broke down and so the game was trying to run at 1440p on a 900p monitor which was causing it to not actually be able to display itself (it would boot up and I heard the main menu music, but the game window would not open). After about 5 mins of googling the fix turned out to just be locating and deleting the game's local config file. Now it works just fine again.

The only time I've had issues with games not working on win10 was because I was missing some obscure graphics library that's not pre-installed in european versions of win10. Without it some games like Master blaster zero 2 simply wouldn't work.
