I’m willing to take the announcement at face value. New Blood seems to be very hands-on with the games they publish and it might well have been a clash of visions for what the game should be. Hopefully George puts out a statement soon.

afaik new blood wanted the game to remain as a sort of john woo shooter while the devs wanted to add more slow paced objectives instead of the score system

I'm trying to figure out if this is the game I remember seeing some time in the last 1-2 years that was a skyscraper FPS with something to it that looked really fun.
