Let me guess, you think Joel being nice again is "character assassination." Do you even realize he's lived most of his life in normal society? Nice Joel is the normal, not ruthless Joel. There are many reasons he reconnects with his humanity too. The biggest one being Ellie, since he is able to treat her like the daughter he lost. The other being living in Jackson is pretty much back to normality with the exception of the infected patrols and occasional bandit attacks which don't seem to happen very often. Despite this, he can't escape his past as much as he probably would like to, and it comes back to bite him.

This is a standard for any storytelling medium. You might not like it, but you have to use your suspension of disbelief because if you don't you can find flaws in any semi complex story. Besides, I can't remember one in TLOU2 that was so contrived I was actually put off by it.

I'm not really sure why you mark this as a bad thing, and it isn't just PTSD. It's the fact that she thinks she owes it to Joel since 1. he would do the same for her and 2. the guilt she feels over treating Joel like shit and then him dying without getting to forgive him.

I mean that wasn't even PTSD, it was just a flashback. Honestly this was the most egregious use of a flashback, and if you said you didn't like how it was implemented I would see where you're coming from, it was necessary to the story but it probably could've been done better, though the actual scene with her and Joel is very good and emotional.
