Why would I need a gaming console when I could just hook up my PC or laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable?
Why would I need a gaming console when I could just hook up my PC or laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable?
so you dont have a stool with a laptop on it in the middle of your living room
but user you are homeless
because hooking a computer to a TV looks and plays like shit
Because, user, we like video games, and pc doesn't have any of it's own besides indie garbage and (((early access))). Ironic if you think about it. The greatest spec possibilities but has to leech off other platforms in order for them to be valid.
It'd hard to believe people who grew up in the internet age stopped progressing their knowledge when they hit their 30s.
You don't need a laptop to hardwire to your tv. You stream your computer on the tv through your home network. You can play on the big screen seeminglessly since most current tv's have strong processors now to run their own integrated steam link or chromcast.
>adding unneeded latency
Finally someone gets it.
>he doesn't play duck game with 4 friends on the couch
>he doesn't play through SOMA with his gf/wife watching comfortably from the couch
ngmi
>cables
What a caveman
I'm a PC gamer but that's just soulless, imagine being THAT type of person whenever you have friends or a date over
>..and then he spent 15 minutes hooking his pc up to his TV because he doesn't have any consoles for some reason
>go over to guy's house to watch some kino
>he pulls out a laptop and hooks it up to the TV
lmao I have a mATX machine in my living room for this reason.
Oh you want to play a game? Yeah one sec let me just find the HDMI cable. Oh yeah and the power cable gotta run that across the room. Here let me get my USB hub so we can use more than one controller. Oh yeah none of the games work well with a controller, or have split screen on PC, and yeah multiplayer is useless.... So yeah, what do you want to play?
I still have a non smart TV
I can stream my laptop to my xbox without any cables.
I use an old gaymen laptop that I've got hooked up to my TV at all times for normalfag shit like Jackbox or Overcooked. I can't work out how to get 5.1 out of it though, no matter how many drivers I go through, it's perpetually stuck on 2.0.
>stream
Not gonna make it
This is the wifi vs ethernet debate. Yeah you can use wifi everywhere but wireless always comes at a cost to proper wired connections.
Probably the TV is outdated. Any modern tv should be recognized all the way up to 7.1 through hdmi audio.
It runs straight into my amplifier. And I've tried running it into another year old TV with the same problems.
I always buy the movie on Amazon to show the woman 1. How much I trust her recommendations and 2. How filthy rich I am.
Don't know what to say except hook it up to a receiver or test it at a friend's house, maybe the sound card is too old
>Poorfags
because MUAH syonystatn, nentindo and xoboxO exclusives ! ! ! 1 11 11
>trying to find where the tiny fucking mouse is from the couch
No, fuck that.
>OP hosts a mediaserver
Just because you can doesn’t mean you will. Steam meme picture mode sucks. 99% of gaming PCs will sit near a desk as their owners play with a KB/M on a shirt little 1440p (or lower) IPS monitor that can’t do real HDR and has shitty hand me down Logitech speakers from 2003
What's your setup?
Laptop -> Amp -> TV ?
or Laptop -> TV -> Amp ?
If the former, check your sound settings nadn check if your amp support 7.1
If the latter, your tv is retarded and only support stereo sound output
>Not activating 'Press ctrl to show cursor'
man I'd really like a smart TV one day
>obtain recliner for battlestation
>now more comfy than the couch
haah waaw
No, what you like is shitty graphics and 30fps.
Just admit it.
Who cares? It's still the best way to play those games.
>he spent 15 minutes hooking his pc up to his TV
wtf, who still uses RF adapters? TVs these days are literally just plug it in on the side of the TV.
For real though, I never understood how shit like chromecast or whatever became a thing when you can just use hdmi. Is it just tech illiterate retards?
