3 has the best gameplay of any FPS ever but people hate it because it's not exactly the same as MP1 and 2, and because there's a lot of cutscenes and people are too retarded to look up "Max Payne 3 skip cutscene mod" and extract two files from a .rar

Alan Wake has a great atmosphere and interesting story but it has one of the most frustrating combat of any game I've played.

Really? I found it to be almost laughably easy considering just shining the flashlight/lantern at the taken causes them to stagger for a minute. The only real challenges are when the speedier ones try flanking you and hit you multiple times.

I didn't say it was hard because it really isn't, but the game likes to throw waves of enemies behind you while you're battling a boss or some other enemy, and in Nightmare difficulty it just gets worse and worse.

I hate the movement in it. Max will never immediately stop when you let go of your movement keys. It's the whole realism shit that this game has that sets it back compared to Remedy's one.

The atmosphere of the initial chapters of 1 are unmatched but I thought it kind of lost its steam 1/2 of the way through. 2 did a better job of maintaining the intrigue.

I played all of them. 3 is best aged by far thanks to it's amazing combat system. Bullet time and shootdodge was at it's best in 3.

1 was more just a collection of movie cliches stuck together to make a story, which worked well. 2 had its own story, which I also liked. Both games were funny. Gunplay was good in both. 2 was the first game I played with Havok physics which was cool. 2 also had the main enemy type be a guy dressed like a janitor for more than half of the game which sucked. Overall it's a wash.
