>game is preachy and overdramatic
>people ignore it
heh

2/10, does not support it's assertations

>I think everyone would agree that one particular ideology is troublesome when radicalized, and yes it's the one I'm against
any ideology when radicalized is bad, that's the definition of radicalization.

You're not special or smart because you lack a sense of humor, OP.

>game's setting has a completely unrealistic starting position where everyone somehow has housing, and despite the fact that there is nothing to buy or pay for, people still work.
>No mention or allusions to how their food is produced and how it is upkept.

the biggest lesson i learned from hideo kojima is that just because a game has a thoughtful and thoroughly articulated message doesn't mean you have to give a shit

if some japanese guy came up to me on the street and started telling me about his moral philosophy i wouldn't give a flying fuck; why would I take that shit more seriously just because he happened to be a successful game designer?

take out the fact that the Pig Masks were ran by ]Porky and his hairbrained scheme to make everyone suffer and tell me the industrialization of Tazmilly is inherited bad. If someone not evil came along and used science and technology to improve the quality of life that we'd ultimately lead ourselves to destruction? I love Mother, and I actually have environmentalist values regarding preserving the planet, but simultaneously the entire premise assumes that society destroyed the world through greed, but it never goes into detail on how or why. I could wake up one day and be a werewolf, cool story but unless someone explains HOW it happened it makes no sense. Only part of Mother I'll criticize about being shallow in its preach, it comes off like a liberal arts student pamphlet.
The logo change at the end signified the natural world was returned as opposed to the hybrid industrial logo the game has through it. This implies that the ending results in not the integration of industrialization and the natural environment, but the replacement of an all natural Earth, so tell me how this isn't flat our renouncing all of mankind's artificial technological creations.

based and ted pilled

The idea that "leftists" started with modern society is laughably ahistoric.

Like, you're upstanding of politics and history would've had to come exclusively from online memes

>the biggest lesson i learned from hideo kojima is that just because a game has a thoughtful and thoroughly articulated message doesn't mean you have to give a shit
Was it the "it's up to YOU to choose what to believe and carry on" bit? Because that would be ironic but appropriate.

but user using technology to save peoples lives is evil
the world would be perfect and idyllic if we all lived in a cowboy commune with dinosaurs

What is with all these bizarre Mother 3 threads on Zig Forums, /vr/, and /vrpg/? Is it some schizo or something?

I really, REALLY want to believe this is my small brain telling me this and there actually is more nuance to the message.

You are retarded.

Mother 3's entire message is about traditions and values being lost to suits who just want to profit. It's not about "technology bad", it's about how we lose lose our culture and identity by giving in to these powers.

It's literally this simple. In an ideal world, a moderate leftist living in a moderate right state can live a perfectly happy life, and vice versa. In a separate ideal world, a leftist living in a radical right state would be miserable, and once again, vice versa. The moderate left nor the moderate right are never your "enemy."

Sounds like a shitty hamfisted story to me. Tradition is retarded.

makes more sense
i hope thats what itoi says the point was, otherwise i lose a lot of respect for him

Is that why you guys love wojak?

I do not recall culture being a factor here. When did they make the argument specifically about culture, or can you give me some examples?
The thing is culture and tradition went out the fucking window when Tazmilly was founded, they COMPLETLEY disregarded the ways of the old world to jump right back into the iron age.
There is value to tradition but it deserves to be held second to other more important aspects of society such as people's rights, technology, and advancement.

It also has cute boys

but why the logo change to wood at the end? cause use of lumber is more traditional than steel?

>The thing is culture and tradition went out the fucking window when Tazmilly was founded, they COMPLETLEY disregarded the ways of the old world to jump right back into the iron age.
Yes, and this was a bad thing. Mother 3 has a theme of denying the past (Porky about his past, Flint's obsession with finding Claude and abandoning Lucas) and how its destructive. The people Tazmily deciding to erase their original history are punished by repeating it.

As for culture I just mean the general way the village worked before Fassad arrived. People would contribute in their own unique ways, no ageism, and differing views were accepted. In the timeskip everyone is forced to work in the factory simply doing backbreaking soulless labor, all the elderly like Alec and Wess are forced into a retirement home despite both being very capable, Reggie's tent is destroyed and the home of Tazmily are now identical and not distinct like early.

Itoi has said the logo was meant to feel abnormal. It has the unnatural (metal)being forced into the natural (wood) and creates something freakish in the process. The logo, the very earth itself, has become unnatural, and only at the end does it become itself again thanks to the new world created by the Dark Dragon.

>Implying that having a message is important in itself
What a simpleton you must be. Beauty, truth, and goodness do not need some kind of proscriptive method, and having one does not imply that it is correct.
The sentence "Globalization is inhuman, technology is bad and the old ways are best" has a message, but it is simplistic, totally unsupported, and devoid of artistic merit.

Message is trivial. Only the substance of a thing is worth discussing.

Radical means relative to its roots. Radical feminism is just a non-derivative, pure form of feminism. The same thing applies to radical left, radical right, radical islam, etc.
