50 is max level until Shadowlands

>50 is max level until Shadowlands
>you can get to LVL 50 is 6 hours now

How is this fun? Why the fuck would you want to fuck the FUCK to the end?

>playing, following, or caring about modern wow at all

That's my point. Who thought this was good game design?

ok boomer go play classic

I follow it to see how far the writing has degraded. I mean, it was never stellar, but it's now being written by a fan fiction tier writer who writes how he wants the story to go, not how the story wanted to go.
I wonder how much better the game would be if the original team never left...

because post-wotlk, the game isn't about the quests and low exp anymore.

being lvl50 for shadowlands is dumb as fuck. that'd be 5 lvls per fucking EXP and being lvl10 doing ALL of original wow is dumb.

I have gone through all of the continents at least a dozen times. Leveling and experiencing the respective content is fun the first time around but when you have done it over and over a streamlined approach is actually quite appreciated.

The Warcraft story ended after Arthas death.

I fear if they make a WC4 the story would be pants on head retarded.

no one wants to spend 30 hours leveling an alt

Nobody wants to play through outdated content

lol TBC story was complete garbage and so was cata

>i cant wait to get to the endgame where i can grind dailies like a mobile phone game

Funny to see it slowly gping down.
Especially taking into accout the call out post on twitter about private forums existing with devs and selected few players where players were supposed to give feedback and blizzard make game changes based on that.

>scaling is all messed up because everything was balanced around level 60 content
>all of your existing spells and abilities have been butchered into pieces and drip fed to you slowly as you level up
>your spec will feel bad and suck up until like level 45 or so
>the de-pruned spells are largely worthless for your spec and won't fit into your rotations due to the BfA global cooldown change
>chances are you can't even use your returned spells in the spec you are playing

This is retarted, and a good sign that Shadowlands is going to be a bad expansion.

TBC's story was fine until they had to delay wrath so they moved sunwell to patch 2.4 instead of it being the starter raid in 3.0.

as opposed to grind low level quests and dungeons you've already done 300 times on a character that is clunky to play becaue he's missing most abilities and passives?

Yes because fundamentally the shit you do at endgame isn't much different from leveling, it's all repetitive bullshit but at least when you're at endgame you're doing the repetitive tasks to progress in content that matters

>Why the fuck would you want to fuck the FUCK to the end?
are you okay?

source?

Blizzard is in panic mode trying to get new players to level cap without them getting bored. Its not going to work. Worgen are the hottest race in WoW.

>wow
>new players
pick only one

>TBC's story was fine
lol

i know right

no its not if you keep making shitty threads like this.

For back then? yeah. Was it butchered by a shit ton of retcons later? also yeah.
I will agree that BC was the start of writing out problems because they couldn't write with them or around them, but it was still okay.

twitter.com/MagdalenaDK/status/1317179502242529282?s=20

thanks senpai

holy fucking shit

Wtf? This is huge.
Why the fuck blizzard didn't give a shit about people's opinon on the official forums to begin with and instead decided to follow some 'influencers' and 'streamers'? That's more offensive than them not giving a fuck about any kind of feedback at all right now.
I hope this will blow up

>For back then
it was shit then and it was shit now you fucking retard. people have complained about TBC's lore since it was current because it's complete trash

>THEY DONT OWE YOU ANYTHING

>Was it butchered by a shit ton of retcons later?
TBC's lore was a bunch of retcons

It's worth remembering it's just one more step in a long trend - unless I'm mistaken, TBC is the only expansion where reaching level cap took longer than in the previous version (and after 2.3 changes, not much more at that).

And it kinda sorta does make sense. After all, most old-time players have leveled dozens of characters. For example, I would estimate my total to be something like 20 vanilla 1x equivalents worth of characters (about half of that in various vanilla through Wrath private servers with a variety of xp rates, and half in retail leading to Wrath at which point I had every class at 80). Playing on FRESH low-rate servers can still be fun for various reasons, but retail is not FRESH: you'd be playing alone in an empty world doing content you might have done dozens of times and that's it. It's the same kind of reasoning as removing elite status of most vanilla group quests in 2.3: group quests clearly still were in Blizzard's agenda as evidenced by them being more prevalent in TBC content than they were in vanilla, but because the growth of the game had started slowing down, you could no longer count on people finding anyone to do them with - they effectively were dead content. That would be the case of leveling content in neo-WoW even if leveling took longer. Paradoxically, it could be even less of a thing: since leveling isn't much of an investment, people may still contemplate rerolling just for cosmetic reasons of a new race or to have half a dozen co-mains to game the loot systems, but if leveling a character took 5d+ /played, almost nobody would bother.

I do loathe the idea that leveling has been sidelined so and that's one more reason to play on FRESH servers, but in the context of neo-WoW, I understand the reasoning. My main objection to Shadowlands leveling (I've leveled half a dozen characters to trial cap of 20) isn't the time it takes but how trivial it is. With the level squish there was a good opportunity to retune the content, but no.

>draenei retcons
>blood elves joining the horde
>the entirety of Illidan's story
>kael does a 180 from doing anything for his people to sending his people on random suicide missions and becoming a crack addict
>hellfire peninsula retcon
>black temple retcon

Does Shadowlands have a new loading screen?

hahahahahahaahahahahaaha
>talents are clearly unbalanced and able to be proven unbalanced with math and spreadsheets
>blizzard: haha talents are fine guise it's the theorycrafters that are enforcing mandatory talents picks in your groups ;^)

WoW leveling hasn't been fun since wotlk, so who cares? Do you think people enjoyed being forced to go through each zone, with their railroaded questing sequences each time they made leveled up a new character in Legion or BfA? No. It's fucking atrocious. The entire game is *the* end game, so why would you spend any extra time leveling?

Go play classic if you want to grind bears for 30 hours to get from 57 to 58 because quests dried up 3 levels ago.

It has a new loading screen for each of the 5 new zones and Torghast, as well as each raid and dungeon. Just like every other expansion.

Are you braindead? why the fuck would you want to spend LONGER leveling in retail?

literally all of the content in retail is at end game.

TBC-Cata had new screens for old xpacs too.

>Complete leveling change
>You can now pick ANY expansion and level 10-50 there!
>Skip the stuff you hate, focus the stuff you love!
>Play Priest
>Pick Legion
>Class quest expects you to Mind Control a mob
>You're level 17
>Mind Control now unlocks at 38
Bravo, Blizzard

>that'd be 5 lvls per fucking EXP
Thanks for showing you have no idea how it even works but come to bitch and moan anyway

And? Is THAT how hard you're scraping to bitch about WoW now?

It just shows lack of effort from the team like almost everything else

>Absolutely 0 proof
Come the fuck on

>Doesn't screencap the entire forum or anything as evidence
>All they have is cropped, easily F12'd blue text
>Tranny

There are pictures, multiple people corroborating it, previous known example of blizzard doing this (warlock redesign with MoP,) and the fact that it wasn't a very well kept secret that there were "secret" forums

heard classic turned into some real degenerate shit lately

Leveling was in a terrible place before and it has been virtually meaningless since Wrath. This change was for the better but it's still in a poor place.

blizzdrones on the forums (where It’s proven the devs now ignore) will unironically day this. Reading the WoW forums is painful.

What is the problem here? The worst "evidence" is a screenshot of a developer saying that websites with full time employees exist to find the best talents which is true.

>There are pictures
Of cropped blue posts (Hello inspect element), that don't even contextually match what is being claimed, and read like regular blue posts, not a secret club directly interacting with players. No full on screengrabs of this entire secret forum, nothing
>multiple people corroborating it
Yes, a forum only accessible by WoW's absolute elite and everyone corroborating it are literal nobodies

You're so desperate to bitch about WoW that you're actually believing raging twitter tranny with 0 proof

>muh 40 hour leveling experience

Cringe, go back to classic. Ah, right, sorry, no one is playing anymore.

This whole discussion is just the two sides talking past each other. Both sides have legitimate grievances about how things are run, but at this point everyone is just getting defensive about it.

TBC unquestionably has a bunch of retcons (like the whole draenei thing), missed opportunities (say, you would have expected Alleria and Tyralyon to be there or at least acknowledged) and misguided handling of characters (Illidan and his gang). Most of the new lore I find fairly compelling, though.

However, it doesn't feel offensive to me. Vanilla and TBC are more about worldbuilding than storytelling, which I think is the way to go. The reasons for Kael'thas joining the Legion for example might be retarded, but the game doesn't rub it in. A lot of people are even under the mistaken notion that the main story was about Illidan and that SWP was an afterthought or something, while the expansion is obviously about the Burning Legion (hell, it's in the fucking name!) with plot lines started in new starting areas culminating at SWP. What you had was cool areas and dungeons and bosses and shit with the player character being a nameless adventurer and that's FINE. If you really cared about story you could read the quest text.

Starting with Wrath and especially with Cata, the player started becoming the main character directly involved with the events and the game forced you to sit through cringeworthy forced melodrama bullshit. In terms of raw writing quality, LK being presented as "I'll get you next time Gadget" kind of villain that is so weak Scourge is literally more threatening without him in charge might not be more stupid than Kael joining Legion, but it gets in your face more, and this sort of thing, as well as the game no longer taking itself seriously (Warcraft has always been tongue-on-cheek, but you didn't have shit like Uldum being one giant Indiana Jones reference), has only escalated.

it was pretty much immediate. The modern sensibilities of the audience coupled with the fact that Classic is a solved game meant there was no creativity or forgiveness in how people played.

whats the problem in people having some supah secrit foruim for theorycrafters?

I bet he was one of the frogs that got fired by Activision.

Wow a cropped screenshot, those are like the DNA evidense of internet proof.
