No fallout fan would ever say 4 was good. I think I ran into ONE "skill check" where if your INT was high enough you could repair that ship without a power core. Wow. Such choice. Much immersion.

House:

>Tried to turn Benny into an apprentice, failed because his society/ideals support stabbing people in the back and pushing yourself in front of others
>Freeside highlights massive inequality
>Has little to no plan/backup if anyone goes against his plans (see killing House), in which a solid raid would kill him and his entire set of ideals

Legion
>Dictatorship, Caesar's ideals die with him as he only teaches his people unwavering loyalty, not why brutality/loyalty are important
>Doesn't teach people his end-game for society, his sole inheritor of power is a bloodthirsty general that will essentially burn the Legion through constant warfare
>Caesar, without the Courier's influence, would die of his brain tumor

NCR
>Corrupt and bloated as fuck, but still generally tries to lean towards helping others out and "saving" them through taking over
>Filled with a lot of good people that push for solid changes and goals, often can be directed by the Courier to be better with little resistance
>If the President of the NCR dies, the NCR continues living, with the ideals intact as it's not a sole leadership
>Corrupt as it may be, government style allows for even a random raider to get their shit together, rise through the ranks, and make societal change (even if it's highly unlikely)
>Are (mostly) amicable to working with groups, including the BoS and Boomers with diplomacy

NCR is full of fuckheads looking out only for themselves and politicians looking out at everyone's territory for where they can put their next ranch. But there are people in there trying to do good, trying to make the world better. And people can rise up in that society and point at bullshit happening to a degree of success. The Legion and House aren't solid long term solutions to the apocalypse. So yeah, fuck a lot of the NCR, but there are still good people there.

The game was a fucking broken, unfinished nightmare on release. It still is, but with enough patches and fixes, people have been able to play it and see it has some solid writing/worldbuilding.

NCR is a solid choice if you actually care about reform, House is if you wanna look out for yourself and Legion is if you just wanna look strong in front of everyone else
