It's made by Riot and targeted towards ASSFAGGOTS players so it's gonna be as casualized as possible.
it makes me sad they are just doing another street fighter copy.
if it was a street fighter copy I'd buy any amount of mtx day one
aside from the audience they are targeting, im pretty sure the dev team they bought out to work on it was in the process of doing a fighting game that had single button inputs with cool downs.
>It's made by Riot
wrong
you could say that this has already been debunked
At first I would have hate the idea. But Granblue is actually pretty fucking great.
My real problem with LOL is that shitty character design.
It's targeted for MOBA players so it will be casualized and streamlined as all hell.
what if it's not and it's more like valorant in which you get one shot headshotted, movement is clunky, there's no sprint button and there's no respawn?
Going by rising thunder it'll probably be cool down based, with neutral bring the focus. But it'd be more enjoyable if they did street fighter inputs. Unless they went nuts and did combo based like Arcsys, but looking at the super meter it's probably motion.
Casualized Rising Thunder
copy smash and have each move tied to directional inputs plus a button.
problem is smash has platforms, aerial combat and ledges to compensate for simplicity of neutral
Rising thunder was easy inputs so this will be the same. Watch casuals still complain about it being too hard.
imagine how much porn this is going to result in
you know there's gonna be extremely sexual grab animations with all these female characters
>directional one button specials like smash
>every character is a charge character
I want motions though, but not too retarded motions like pretzels
imagine how much much more porn there would be if this lad makes it in
Today I will remind them

This is the kind of audience you will be getting. They're extremely hard to please because they're absolute scrubs and don't want to learn even the simplest of games. But will make excuses to not play anything remotely hard. Riot needs very good SBMM so that these absolutely garbage players only face each other. Where they can adhere to their weird honor systems of not using anything they deem unfair.
So yes it will not be hard and yet we will get a ton of videos of people raving about how broken and unfair things are. Personally I can not wait it will be so much fun.
Riot bought the devs, they're Riot now
The later and noone will play it beyond dedicated League playerbase.
If it's a replication of Rising Thunder then I might actually try it.
I won't watch a 16 minutes video created and narrated by some literal annoying teenager.

It is too dry honestly. It isn't even down to just having cooldowns, the game has the least engaging meter and ex system I've seen in decades. You aren't making interesting choices with either. You need EXs for basic corner combos so will always use them, and the meter is just a super you will always get it every round and have no reason not to use it. There is no real choice going on and you aren't really balancing yourself between things. You can live for 5 seconds without that special so there is no real reason not to EX when appropriate. All these little aspects being worn down really makes fighters less exciting.
My worry is this goes further and like RT has only one version of each special, with only 3 specials per character.
I dunno about neutral focused. They want an esport and a slow game might not sell. It could fall into the weird SFV zone of sort of slow but suddenly chaos.
you'l only need to watch it once though to meme it for eternity. And you can set the speed to 2.0.
3 specials and a super is what I'm expecting
>This is the kind of audience you will be getting.
good, nothing as good as bitches crying.
yes because that's worked so well for the FGC
One-button specials with cooldowns works perfectly thematically for a game based of League, and I imagine it's the only real reason they picked up the people from Rising Thunder despite that game flopping horribly.
Which, bringing it up, begs the question of what they're hoping to accomplish with this game. Sure, they're going to avoid the metric fuckton of people that would complain about how "buhbuhbuh Z-motions are gatekeeping," but A) they're still going to get people complaining about combos even if they add an autocombo system, and B) Rising Thunder still failed because the problem wasn't inputting the fireball, it was because the average player was too retarded to jump over it and know when to block. Chel was just your absolute most basic kind of shoto, but to the fags thinking that easier inputs gave them an easier "in" for the genre, she was Arakune or Nine the goddamn Phantom.

It just kinda sucks cause some characters need more than that, or less. GBVS move list feels like they were twisting every way to try and pack what they wanted into 4 specials. Different strengths having drastic changes on moves isn't unheard of, but if we could break them into sperate moves and then give each 3 strengths you'd already have way more interesting characters. Didn't like RT having variations either, I just kept thinking about possible combos that the system basically locked off. Plus you'll always have moments of well if I had special 2-2 I'd could have XYZ in that situation.
Eventually people will get good enough that the simplifications don't benefit them and they'll be annoyed at the game. What I want to see them do is an easy input system that is actually expanding what fighters can do rather than a step back.
