Pretty fucking kino. 2003, VX Ace and XP (to an extent), are amazing game engines with amazing capabilities. idk about the newer ones though, MV? seems pretty good for HD art.

RPG Maker is a bait and switch
As an engine, there are far better alternatives, which means the only reason you're buying it is for the content (music, sprites, etc), but using default assets makes your game look generic to the point where nobody serious actually uses them

Feel free to use the generic tile set, every porn game dev in the RPG Maker scenes uses it anyway.
Make a generic story. Remember, people are here for the porn, not 50 pages of back story before they even get to see a CG.
Process is exactly the same as making a normal game in MV, just include a gallery and a lose condition in every battle.

I started with 2k because it was the coolest shit ever at the time.
I used XP to teach myself programming.
I'm dabbling in MV now to learn a bit of JavaScript and see what I can make in my spare time.
RPG maker is good for these reasons if you pick it up while you're young. You will almost certainly never release anything, let alone anything of value. That's not the point, though.
