Yeah I played the shit out of this game as a kid. Unironically the best Star Wars game made

Incorrect.

Yes, it's very good. The whole series is great, but Rogue Leader is best.

Rebel Strike includes a multiplayer version of Rogue Leader.

It's good but pretty damn hard iirc

It's still the best Star Wars game.

KotORs?

Yeah, it's real good.
Cloud city level is fun to just cruise around in.

It's not as good as you remember user. All the tie fighters just follow a track, the only way they'd shoot you down is if you flew in front of them.

It's X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter for babies

Any game that lets you fly a Naboo Starfighter or space Buick is good in my book.

Man if only SW Squadrons managed to be one tenth as fun as this in both gameplay balance and mission design. I'd love to play Rogue Squadron with SWS controls (full 360) and VR.

>gameplay balance
what do you mean?

TIEs in Squadrons take too long to die IMO, at least in Veteran. Rebel/Empire balance was closer to canon in Rogue Squadron and it was fun mowing down a bunch of enemy ships. It also had the mechanic of enemy squadron leaders that were best taken out last which was fun. Finally, Squadrons has bullshit enemy respawning sessions that railroad you to focus on objectives only and in general a lot of wacky balanced parts when it comes to attacking capital ships.

RS3 let's you play through these missions with a buddy

I'd kill for a modern PC port with online play.

rogue squadron 2 is an improvement on rogue squadron 1 in virtually every way. the levels are better, the ships are better, the enemies are more interesting to fight, there's no missile turret fuckers, there are less dark-as-fuck missions set in areas that are filled with a bunch of nothing, etc. i think the only thing RS1 has going for it is there's more extended universe content, which i think is more interesting than just repeating stuff from the movies.

That's fun and all but you and I both know that's nowhere near a proper port.

It was good as fuck when I played it in 2002, but now any game I played back in those days just reminds me of a friend who passed away, and I don't like Star Wars anymore.

KOTOR sucks

And the graphics look gorgeus even today. Still a mystery how they managed to pull that shit on Gamecube.

He was talking about the first game (N64/PC).

A launch game, no less.

The detail on the star destroyer was something else. It's incredible.

Why?

THIS IS THE MEDICAL FRIGATE

RED LEADER, WHERE ARE YOU!?

Jesus Christ, lady, there's a million tie fighters out here!

Squadrons is a spiritual sequel to the X-Wing and TIE Fighter series and is far better than Rogue Squadron.

Is it? Honestly I never played those games. How exactly is it better because if they are anything like Squadrons I don't think I'll agree.

>that mission where you play as the unnamed pilot in the A-wing that rams the Executor's bridge

so fucking good

You tell me.

To be honest I was always salty that we never got to actually fly around the Executor and the mission was confined to its trenches. If they managed the cloud city surely this was possible.

So, minor shader compilation stutters that only happen the first time you run the game, and crashes that can be easily avoided by changing a single setting and by not using a 5 year old build of the emulator?

Sounds more stable than the average modern PC port tbqh

>The Widescreen Hack has clipping and scaling issues that can be partially fixed with a Gecko Code, though corners of the map are still missing and crashes may occur with this code.
NTSC-U

Yeah bro, totally stable. Seems like the "Hang on Pause or Targeting Computer" is still an issue as well. Must be fun having a game breaking crash 10 minutes into a mission you're about to gold.

Even Interceptors? They shot the hell out of me multiple times. Although it was those damn missile turrets that were the worst.

Nah.
