Xbox's goal is to make Gamepass the "netflix of gaming". The problem with that is that Netflix has done an ungodly amount of damage to the movie/film industry. Gamepass would be the end of gaming as we know it.
Gamepass will be the death of gaming
Don't care, still pirating.
why? because you said so? what a dogshit thread, fuck you retard. you didn't even say anything to argue you, just said "gamepass = bad" and expect us to do the rest for you. faggot
Don't care, I'm still havin SeX
Doesn't matter, had SeX
>HOW DARE YOU TRY TO START A CONVERSATION
Go to one of the Geshin or Smash threads, retard.
Don't care. Finished 2 games for a dollar already.
I have yet to see a single criticism of Game Pass that isn't "sky is falling" panic.
you didn't start a conversation. you said a stupid opinion with no evidence and expect us to fill the blanks for you.
>>>>reddit.com
your thread = bad
there you go retard enjoy your discourse
How did it do an ungodly amount of damage to any industry? Could it be because consumers aren't willing to pay $20 for a blu-ray they'd watch once and would rather just pay for a subscription that offers a multitude of movies instead? Nah, can't be it.
Same shit applies to vidya. If people don't want to buy full priced games, let them rent their shit. Everyone can still just buy any game they want. You can start doomposting once we actually get something that is gamepass exclusive (and, really, just gamepass, with no option to just buy the game instead). Otherwise, shit's retarded.
Nah, services like Game Pass and PS Now cycle games out far too quickly for them to become a truly damaging thing.
The majority of non-Microsoft studio games get taken out in the matter of a couple of months.
Past that, you get a discount on those games and it seems to be the only service with a good supplementary cloud option, for some reason.
Microsoft's done a lot of damage to the PC space, though, so fuck them.
Blockbuster will be the death of gaming.
Blockbuster's goal is to make rental the "future of gaming". The problem with that is that movie rental has done an ungodly amount of damage to the movie/film industry. Blockbuster would be the end of gaming as we know it.
I did that because you retards won't come to thread that has an OP with over a paragraph of information.
>What damage have they done
>Killed rental stores
>Have everything be digital means they can erase or edits things out they aren't up to "today's standards"
>Caused a bunch of clones to pop up, now all the services fight over movies and TV shows screwing the customers over
>The majority of non-Microsoft studio games get taken out in the matter of a couple of months.
Past that, you get a discount on those games and it seems to be the only service with a good supplementary cloud option, for some reason.
Why wouldn't you want to actually own your games? I hate digital, but at least you still own it.
The Game Pass will save indies since 99% of them are short and rather shit so it would do well in a subscription-based bundle. Humble Bundle figured this out years and years ago, which is why some crap has millions of copies owned (they were included in a $1 bundle)
I'll give you rental stores, but the rest of your arguments is retarded. Rental stores could remove movies after the fact too. The only thing they probably couldn't really do is modify the disc content. You also had multiple rental chains in the past, and they competed for your money too. You pick and choose what suits you the best.
Rental stores still aren't the "movie industry", though.
>Why wouldn't you want to actually own your games?
At no point did I say anything about game ownership.
You can't mod the games or even set launch options. The game folders are hidden and encrypted.
So people that want to mod their games that they play on Game Pass can buy them at a discount.
Wojack posters deserve the noose
>be 2005
>dad takes me to blockbuster to rent a game
>get Gun cuz it looks cool
>like it so much he buys it for me
>go on the internet, print out a picture of the gun cover art
>slide picture into sleeve
TAKE ME BACK
K snoy. Have fun paying 70 bucks for your movies. I’ll be here having SeX
>Rental stores could remove movies after the fact too.
Yes, but it wasn't just magically gone forever. You could still get it elsewhere. For games, once a video game is taken off a store it is gone if you didn't have it downloaded.
Nope they're usually still far more expensive than on steam.
They added modding options for their games recently so at least they're trying. Also it's more of a MS store thing instead of a gamepass issue, to be fair. I really don't get why they're pushing their encryption crap though. If they want to do it for their own UWP games, be my guest, but every third party game just uses their regular file structures but with access restrictions instead.
They really need to get their shit in order until the next TES game at least, because if you can't use a script extender for their game on PC, no one will bother playing it on their platform.
Then what's stopping you from buying it on Steam?
Now you're just complaining about the Microsoft store.
>For games, once a video game is taken off a store it is gone if you didn't have it downloaded.
How does this apply to gamepass though? You can still get the game somewhere if you just buy it instead. Granted it's always an issue when licenses run out like with the Forza games but that's a whole other can of worms.
But muh censored movie games are superior to the Microsoft store
you cant compare games to movies
nobody gives a fuck about owning movies, you watch that shit once and it's done, games are far more flexible in monetization and games won't stay on gamepass forever
how are you gonna play rdr2 when it's not on gamepass anymore? you gotta buy that shit
end of story
more like GAY pass am i rite?
You said you'd never seen legit criticism of game pass and I gave it. I'm cancelling it and continuing to simply buy my games on steam.
Seethe and cope xFag
You realize companies can bail out any time out of gamepass, right? It’ll be dead in the water soon, just like it’s predecessors
>You said you'd never seen legit criticism of game pass
I have never said that in my entire life.
You're thinking about a different user.
