They never stood a chance. Also, what triggers a grab? It feels like being next to someone then pressing a direction seems to do it. Also, double-tapping a direction and then X causes Kiryu to do a "Crest upper" or something for no loss of health.

Yes, you can do this to Nishiki too, it's just harder because of the mooks and when he breaks out of it by moving too far away it's a bit hard to start the loop again without taking some hits.
