Genshin impact is the Undertale of its generation in terms of fanbase.

Between Smash, GI, and CDPR threads, and recycled jokes, Zig Forums has become a cesspit. This board is literally R*eddit 2012 now.

It's not exactly gotyay but it's really fucking good for a "free" game, exploring is chill, combat is fun and can get hype, the characters are alright/cute, and I've laughed at the writing more than a few times

Definitely has its flaws but there's no need to be upset

I fucking hate the fanbase, the game is decent for what it is and I'm talking in terms of what it offers as gameplay and if we remove the gacha aspect from the equation. But fuck the fans, they can't take any criticism, even the "forums" are filled with their cancer.
Saw one thread where a good portion were rightfully saying that the resin system was trash (cap too small, costs too big, etc) and the most common reply was always "hurr durr uninstall then"

This is the worst part, the first 30 hours of the game, its basically BotW but with a linear story and more shit to collect. But then suddenly the looter part vanishes and its just a gacha but with pretty graphics.

Game is fun, but it need like a year or so to get more locations to explore.

I'm adventure rank 33. The game felt like it was always on the cusp of being good but then it never really got there. And F2P progression basically comes to a complete halt around rank 30 unless you just want to grind the same shitty daily missions and perfectly time your energy missions perfectly. Also sucks that my pity 5 star pull was just a sword instead of a character. I'm done with it.

There are a lot of "ifs" about this game. Here's one: if this game weren't a free download, it would be underneath Hamtaro Wii Bowling at the Walmart bargain bin. It's novelty is that it has AAA production values and is playable for free on your phone. Everything else about it is mediocre.

Most people don't even finish act 1 of Witch 3 for example before giving up because the combat sucks. Why would anyone spend a month to gear up and reach abyss 7?

All "combos" are pretty much just:
>have character throw out ability
>switch to second character
>have second character throw out ability
>switch to third character
>left click or use ability
>cycle back to first character
>repeat endlessly
>use fourth character for heals or buffs if necessary
You're retarded if you think those are deep mechanics

on an unbiased scale it is a 6/10 which could easily get better when new areas open up

This is the one the pisses me off, they have full control over the game even if you pay monies they can take it away

spent like 40h on this game up to rank 29, just uninstalled it yesterday. i have never played botw so the first ten hours was amazing but the god awful gacha shit made this game intolerable. its impossible to get 4* chars, 5* just dont exist

Genshin basically can't compare in exploration/puzzles. BotW has less story, but what's there is far less grating than Genshin. If you're into weebshit then fair is fair.
