Why aren't there more games like this made? I'm not 12 anymore. I enjoy slow-burn games with high-end production values more. I felt like Death Stranding was the perfect game for me to play after work. It was very relaxing but still very interactive too.

Because anything even slightly more "unique", or just "different from the current norms", is seen as a "risk" by the modern AAA industry. This includes IPs, genres or game design styles that might've been highly successful once upon a time, but fell out of fashion for one reason or another.
This is exactly why we got so many outright rehashes and clones of generic FPS games, or those 3rd person action games w/ stealth elements + upgrade trees. They are "familiar" to the wider masses, they play the same, and thus don't require any effort to learn and master. However, this also puts plenty of restrictions on the innovation part, also often killing any real challenge.
It's come to the point that younger folks have become literally unfamiliar with the idea of games evolving and expanding towards the end, instead of playing all their cards right from the get-go. Not to mention the whole notion of "slow-burn" is like Cryptonite to the typical console-tard of 2020s.
We already got sneaky peeks of his next scifi title, which may have BRIDGES connections in the lore. He also stated that DS became successful enough to score funding for the next game.

There are barely any developers with a good enough track record and connections to get funding for a big budget game that isn't incredibly derivative. The only reason Kojima got funding for something like DS is because he spent 20 years directing a series of games that consistently sold millions which lead to him making some good friends at Sony.

Literally every game I can think of that tries to do some sort of theme does so in a way we’ve all seen before and not in particularly interesting way but it is serviceable and the writing is good enough to serve the story. The difference with Kojima is that his games have more going for them aside from trying to be lessons on politics and the characters are interesting.

i'm like 6 hours into the game STILL nothing is explained or makes any fucking sense and no one seems to be able to tell me what the fuck happened to the world and people are seriously running around with names like "die hardman", "heartman", and "deadman" and no one bats a fucking eye at how cringey it is not to just have a normal fucking name or how it's fucking strange that the main character sam uses "porter bridges" as his last name, working for a company called bridges, that apparently his mother, who is the president, owned and commanded, despite not wanting anything to do with his family for whatever reason, or why no one seems to bat an eye at how strange a coincidence their real last name strand is being at the center of what they call the "Death Stranding"
also apparently we're using the death stranding phenomenon to create a... high speed internet connection for people across america? that's what this game is about? seriously?

I really haven't kept in touch with Kojima's games in years now but how is Death Stranding actually? Everything i've read on the game just seems like another Bioshock:Infinite type of a situation(game's praised as something revolutionary but is about as bottom of the barrel as a video game can get) or am i wrong about this impression?
