> I, alongside an estimated 3 to 6 percent of the population, am a total arachnophobe. Seeing spiders pop up in Torchlight III almost made me walk away from the game. It wasn’t a one-off occurrence, either. Seemingly every other dungeon has spiders of various shapes, sizes, and abilities. Spider eggs and webs are strewn across crevasses and coat the walls. Same goes for many parts of the overworld. And, because it’s Torchlight, these creatures swarm you in hordes! No thanks.

Lol

I used to be a huge arachnophobe but over time got over it. Didnt have much choice if i wanted to play skyrim or any other of my fantasy types of games.
Still not a fan of hyper-realistic, up-close spiders but most video game renditions are fine.
It's just a videogame, it can't hurt you.

oh yeah, those video games journalists sure are a bunch of fragile pussy asss liberal motherfuckers haha

now excuse me while im too scared to make a phone call never had a job and havent left my mothers basement in 20 years and blame all of my problems on jews hhaha i sure am a hardened internent badass oldfag hehe

>all of reality has to conform to the hangups of a minority of the population or that's problematic
gatekeeping is important

Before you solve all those other issues you should probably work on your basic English skills.

>
are you saying that you don’t blame Jews for everything? Back to r*ddit

why are arachnophobefags so loud
you don't hear as much whining from another made up phobia

Take out the gays for us homophobes (I am "irrationally afraid" of their need to decriminalization intentionally HIV infection) and you got a deal.

if anything games helped me with my arachnophobia

this has been debunked

I don't fucking understand this shit
It's a videogame, there's a spider on your screen. So what?
Should we ban all horror games cause they scare you?

Even when I was so arachnophobic I bolted out of my chair screaming when a big one crawled on my arm once I never had a problem killing them in video games because video games aren't real. I've never understood this pussy shit where you can't even stand the sight of an image of one.

you sound like a pussy just like those journalists. You need help

>he thinks the meme is still accurate
Go back

I used to be a huge arachnophobe
then I read the spider manga
then I made related researches
now I let a spider live in my bathroom next to my toilet, it's nice

>Dear mentally ill people with irrational fears of digital spiders: Get Therapy or Kill Yourself

So people are belittled for not being able to get over their homophobia or xenophobia (the literal use, not the insult), but spiders need to be removed from games for arachnophobia. What a strange world

Why is it alright to be an arachnophobe but not a homophobe?

it just means you want to fuck spiders.

stop being such a faggot.

I love spiders in real life but hate them in vidya because they're always gigantic monstruosities ready to kill you and eat your head. And the fucking jump scares.
But I can live with this.

downvoted :(

It's one of those otherkin "I'm special!" things, actual crippling phobias are very rare.

What a pussy.

Granted, I hate the heights myself. Thankfully you can't really make the player feel he is high in video games. Unless you play Yakuza.

He wrote an article about how scared he is of video game insects. He is a fucking pussy.

damn, that's a pretty based and brave comment to post here. gonna trigger a lot of Zig Forums "chads"

The only time I would honestly not play a videogame with spiders in it is if it was a VR game.

inclusion is gatekeeping

>spiders
>insects
we have the schoolphobe here

Bro just masturbate to spider girls and all your phobias will be gone.

>Thankfully you can't really make the player feel he is high in video games
No? I get a pull in my stomach sometimes when my character falls down a very long way, kind of like an incredibly weak version of riding a rollercoaster
And I'm not even afraid of heights

I mean, being genuenely afraid of something from a fucking videogame is just pathetic

What are you, a conservative christian circa 1998?

Fine, we'll swap all the spiders out for big wasps instead

This. Journalist are picky pussys as always.

nobody gives a shit nerd

>game is supposed to be scary
>has scary thing

Alright Zig Forums, what should we ban from games?
I don't like it when movies show needles going into skin so no game should be allowed to have any needles or pointy objects or even imply the use of a syringe

My strongest vertigo in videogames was falling from that winding mountain road in GTA:SA, I wish I could trigger this feel more often.

>Granted, I hate the heights myself. Thankfully you can't really make the player feel he is high in video games. Unless you play Yakuza.
Go play Dying Light and climb up the suspension bridge, and then later the comm tower. The only video game to kick in my fear of heights and make me anxious.

>be a journalist
>be afraid of news
>still get hired

and this is why there is no such thing as a video game journalist.

>forced insemination

delete this

With your second sentence, im 100% sure that im not a fragile faggot. Thanks for making me more confident.
Also, fuck off to reddit, you fucking nigger

>vertigo
I cannot fucking believe I just wrote 2 sentences to explain a feeling because I forgot the word vertigo existed
For me, it mostly happens in games where falling isn't a big part of the gameplay. In platformers you obviously get used to it but if you fall out of nowhere it happens

I just don't think it's alright for writers to guilt trip creators and make them work extra just for their needs and pretend like they're representing a community.
Other than that, I understand some people have deep-rooted fears they can't help.

hmm, good article from literally who, but it's not enough

years of Zig Forums brainwashing has forced me to get triggered over trivial things every SINGLE day, so do you please have more? maybe something with transsexuals, that usually does it

why do they love projecting so much

Attached: 4 (2).png (1301x1093, 205.09K)

>If I can't enjoy seeing spiders in games then no one else should either

Why Americans are all like this?

>Zig Forums pulling out armchair psychology again and insisting phobias aren't real
You faggots always cry about how you're scared of enclosed spaces or the deep sea.

>good article
hello literally who

That's probably true for all young people in Berlin, the housing situation is fucked

Man im glad im not the only one. Something about heights in that game pucker my ass hole proper.

Only 6 percent? seems more common than that

bro I fucking hate spiders IRL but come on, smashing spiders with a giant hammer or roasting them alive with magic is pretty cool in my book

So 3 to 6% won't play Spiderman?

It's a bit late to be saying that, the people you needed to gatekeep out have already gotten in, settled down, and sowed their mentally ill oats in your formerly healthy garden

I don't like the deep sea because of the idea of giant animals swimming below me just out of sight. I can play Subnautica just fine
Seems like this is somehow news to you, but you're not literally your character in the game

Your average "eek! eek! a spider!" is not a phobia.

>good article
it's good because it triggered me a bit, therefore making me experience the only feeling left in my brain: RAGE

after years of hating minorities and jews, never having a girlfriend, never having a job, social life, the only feelings I can experience are those of pure rage, and I must supply them with fresh, made-up, unimportant screenshots of left-wing articles posted on Zig Forums

He's talking about a genuine phobia. Finding spiders icky and not wanting to touch them is different from running screaming out of the room if you see one
Unless you're Australian I guess, then it's a survival instinct

So fragile holy shit. One little comment about you guys living in your mom's basement and you can't let it slip by.

Attached: 1591741757537.gif (368x450, 350.45K)

The news to you is that phobias are irrational fears and don't follow logic or reason. Someone who is high up in a building and safely confined to its interior can still freak the fuck out and/or feel ill.

THATS WHAT IT WAS
I read Kumo desu ga and i started seeing them as less gross and more interesting.

You do realize you just summed up your entire argument, yeah?
>we should censor games based on irrational mental illnesses a small minority of players have

>this amount of cope because you got btfo
lmao

I'm a different user, I can actually write English unlike that little faggot.
