In all honesty, Supergiant did say they wanted to make the gods not-white. They failed miserably. All characters have white facial characteristics. Statue-white, so ultra-white.

The gameplay is usually the weakest element, but even that is still of above average quality.

One really fucking easy way to make this game better would be to have prioritised conversations
i.e. I don't want to hear Achilles commenting on my weapons or relationships, just get to the fucking Patroclus conversation so I can advance the quest
