>that'll be $60!!!!

and look at those sales numbers.

Shit, you just reminded me to pick up another copy of 3D All Stars. Thanks, OP!

Consoomers will pay for anything. More news at 11:00.

you’ll be surprised how many people are too scared to try emulation in fear that it might be too technical and difficult

Look at how fucking ugly those model/texture replacements are.

Where do I get the right one?

Those fingers are scary

where can i get either? anyone?

>completely updated textures and models which retain the game's style
no.

Shit, you just reminded me that my Genshin Impact download's finished!

we just don't know...

>$60 and looks like shit
>$0 and looks presentable

I'll take the "soulless" one please!

yeah? so don't use them
next time mention that 4K is also possible
you build it with this tool
sm64pc.info/sm64pcbuilder2/

Both are from the reverse engineered PC port and are free. It's just the soulless one looks like fuckin shit.

NINTENDO

>has ugly text smoothing and just a few pointless updated textures
Are you seriously trying to say the new 3d all stars textures look worse than the shitty fan upscales and model replacements pc build has? Right looks like shit compared to left and I'm pretty sure anyone with eyes would say the same.
Best choice is 60 fps native on pc with all stars textures and maybe hd level textures for anything all stars didn't add. Excluding that one project with the models in the style from the cg renders all the fan models are shit.

Cope Console Peasant

T. Zoomer who hasn't seen the old renders

I'm mostly miffed that there's no widescreen 60FPS on All-Stars. Rom hackers could do it, you fuckers are implementing on-the-fly texture replacements with goddamn LUA, there's no excuse Nintendo.

Promotional material and in game graphics are two different things.

>Excluding that one project with the models in the style from the cg renders
I've seen them. The models trying to emulate that style are the only ones which aren't shit and even then it still only looks okay since it's using the same lighting engine.

Where can I get the soulless version?

I bet you use the HD pack in half life.

It's almost like framerate and graphics don't actually matter, and that PC """"master race"""" has been lying to us for years.
Really makes you think.

thanks to sm64pc.info/sm64pcbuilder2/
you need a rom of mario 64 and you're literally golden. you can build both from the image using this tool.

play with 5 fps then, there won't even be a difference between 5 and 60.

you can get both from sm64pc.info/sm64nxbuilder/
there's a built in mod list and you can add more yourself from the internet
the "build" happens behind the scenes and is almost instant, no real configuration required other than telling it where your rom is (verify files)
after you've run it for the first time, you can ignore the builder program and just launch sm64.exe itself

this is the more advanced version, the tl;dr retard mode version is

the right IS the render96 model and texture replacement pack. some textures are clearly still a WIP overall, but that is what is in the image and it looks wonderful. and no, that's not what I was saying. the texture updates look good in all stars. but it feels fucking pointless if they aren't going to go the extra mile for the best experience on modern displays, which is precisely what the PC port does.

>completely updated textures and models which retain the game's style and thensome,
Everything Render96 has added looks like absolute shit
>Dude this is the original texture Nintendo used before it was compressed to the point where it actually looked like a decent ground texture at the time
And it looks like shit using a picture of wood shavings as a constant floor texture now.

>it looks wonderful
Please get some taste.

ok, so you don't like it. you're in luck, because the left version is still readily available to (You) for, get this, free!

fuck
I didn't remember the mario model or hud being so shit for Render96. I could have sworn they looked better but it's been ages since I've looked into much on the sm64pc shit.
Are there any other decent packs yet or is Render96 still the only one that's made any real progress?

im too scared to pirate anything cause i dont want to go to jail

>having a low enough iq to unironically care about graphics
just bought mario 3d allstars out of spite

Yeah bro, it looks just like the old epic renders!
