Thinking about picking up DMC HD Collection, its 16 dollars on gamebillet, should I go for it?

On a huge replay of everything. Im going to replay w101 soon but I'm seguing my buddy and my run through MGS series ending in Rising into the rest of Platinums games again, then dmc1-5 (except 2) then NGB, 2 and 3RE. I've never played more than an hour of Godhand so I'll do that after.

Is God Hard actually balanced in Vanquish? Usually Platinums hardest modes are the real game, but this just feels like bullshit

God Hard is legit hard as balls but it's absolutely balanced, dont think of just shooting things to drain a healthbar, instead think of what youre shooting with and how you can use it to control enemies to keep yourself safe. You're going to get frustrated if you just want to spam instead of learning every gun and enemy

they're all fucking clusterfucks and you have to play like a faggot running away constantly and abusing the most boring OP exploit or strategy (because there always is one) to actually get good ranks and not get damaged
viewtiful joe is the ONLY good one because it's 2D so everything is clear, and the mechanics are extremely tight and make perfect sense and always feel good to do even when you're playing perfectly
all these other games fucking suck and I can't believe I fell for the meme of them being good

I'm probably going to get a ton of shit for this, but I beat it by playing the game like a cover shooter.

There is a reason there is no achievement for beating God Hard and why the trials are not on God Hard. That said God Hard is still easier then Trial 6.

Yea God Hard in Vanquish is straight up bullshit. I don't bother with it.

Its not about pures, its about beating the game. The game is too easy, Kamiya fucked up the game over system.

You realise the difficulty and fun in these games is being really good to get pure plats right?

not him but the difficulty is undercut when you dying becomes trival. the fun and the pure plats are an extension of the the difficulty. when that is undercut it isnt as rewarding.

Nobody in the history of vidya has derived enjoyment from pure platting games like Bayo/W101. You WILL restart fights dozens of times because you took damage. You WILL learn to resent how long and tedious the genre shifts are. Instead, you should strive to do as well as you can in a given chapter and aim for regular plats. Sure, you'll take damage. You may not always hit the combo/time requirements, but it doesn't matter. You'll have fun for a change instead of continuously hitting restart in frustration for every minor mistake you make.

You only die if you keep getting hit, and if you get hit you aren't getting PP therefore you need to get better. This "W101 has meaningless death" meme is getting tiresome
