Why is this game shilled on Zig Forums so much?

You can barely discuss divinity without someone trying to force in an ad for their buggy barebones slavjunk

No idea but I bought it recently and so far it seems good. Really strong character building autism washes over me when I play this and I've started over like 3 times already.

Because it's a good game

>More fun gameplay
>Better companions
>Much better story
It's holy union of slavic determination and Avelonne's autism

>Avelonne
Yikes I didn't know a rapist worked on this game.

>rapist

>Wrath od the Righteous has the right idea to implement actual unique classes like liches
its already a better game than Baldur's Sin 3

Watch for my hands
MARRYING
TIEFLING
TWINS

Just unlocked Kingdom Management, and my motivation is shot. I suppose it's because of the calendar system, or maybe the relative lack of direction as opposed to everything leading up to the Stag Lord. Convince me to keep going, Zig Forums. I've been sitting on the game for almost a month now.

>rapist
if only he was an actual rapist then maybe the game wouldve been good

i also fucked up my first playthrough and died because of kingdom rolls

Never played it, but it's on my radar. Does Pathfinder have voice acting? It's a must for me for CRPGS. Playing Pillars 2 right now.

I gave up on the game because of how shit kingdom management was. It sounded great on paper but was a complete chore to play.

You'll have crisis and motivation soon, there is a lull every act where you explore/build/rule and then you get a cool conflict that will then lead into a new conflict.

In critical scenes yes. Not in camp dialogues.

Thanks user. Going to give it a go after I'm done with Pillars.

I miss the Valerie-waifu user. I hope he comes back when the next one comes out.

You are in for surprise

Chapter 2 drags a bit, but it picks up again in 3/4. Kingdom management is pretty mediocre though, hopefully they fix that in the next game.

reminder that scarred val is best val

>haven't found the tiefling twins
>got a cheevo for getting all the companions
are they part of a DLC?

They're the Wildcards DLC. They're kind of meh, I don't think I ever used them outside of their sidequests.

>ex-Nival making rpg about fantasy crusade
You know it's actually might be good

Human
Elf
Dwarf
Halfling
Gnome
Half-Elf
Half-Orc
Aasimar
(DLC) Tiefling
the CaC is like neverwinter nights or everquest, you have like 3 bodies to choose from, 8 faces, 10 hairstyles
custom portraits are also extremely tedious to edit to the game's standards

Brainlet here. What should I roll for my first build if I'm not used to games like this?

Since it's a rpg with a main character, anything class that uses charisma, since that's also what you'll use to win every speech battle.

Does magic rogue is any valuable?

Kingmaker is more mechanically deep than the other CRPGs on the market right now. That's the gimmick it has going for it. The build variety is insane, there are more unique builds possible in that game than grains of sand in the Sahara.

When it comes to the rest of it, things like the encounters are kinda poorly designed and the campaign and characters are lacking as well, that's where Kingmaker falls apart. You'd think they use some of the mechanics the game has set out for the player like, say the player cast true sight before entering a cave so they could see any ambushing invisible enemies that might be in there. Well it wouldn't work because the enemy who is supposedly invisible from the start isn't actually there until the cutscene triggers and spawns them in. That's the kind of stuff that would have put Kingmaker above the others. But you really can't argue that in terms of the nitty gritty of combat and RPG mechanics it's got the other games beat, it's just when you take the game as a whole it comes out worse than games like Divinity or the new BG3.

I can see why it has an audience, but RPGs are more than just the RPG mechanics, it's also about everything else and while kingmaker is the best at the RPG mechanics it's kinda the worst at the everything else part... well worst of this revival so long as we're not counting Tides of Numenera, but who the fuck wants to be reminded of Tides of Numener?

Agreed, it is a below average game and the only reason it gets some rare discussion on this site is that people here in general are zoomers and inexperienced with games.

Very much so, but be aware that you get an npc party member who is a Wizard/Rogue in chapter 1. If you want to go more on the rogue side nothing's stopping you, and it's pretty good if you get a lot of the crit/dual wielding feats, but just be aware that there is a spare magic rogue if you want to try something else.

Game shilled so hard you felt the need to make another thread about it.
