Is minecraft any good? Since it got added in smash I never really heard much about the game or played it, it's $30 despite coming out so long ago and I dont really see the point of the game since there's no story or anything behind it.
So is it worth playing? What's the goal of the game?
With Minecraft in smash, I never played it before
How is living under a rock for 11 years user?
there is technically a final boss but the real goal is to just build autism projects
It's basically virtual legos with a top tier survival mode.
no
If I were to start playing it, do I install mods or whatever?
It's mainly for autists who love building things (not an insult), and who like playing with friends for stuff like survival mode.
Exploring your random gen world, that sorta thing.
play it vanilla first, it's pretty complete as is
modded minecraft is an entirely different game and there are so fucking many, and you'll also have to do version fuckery since most mods are for either 1.7.10 or 1.12.2 and those are several years old
get Java
Personally I'd recommend playing vanilla for a while at first, so you know what you'd want to change with mods
Well, i buyed 10 years ago and never played. I tried few weeks ago and is fun.
play 7 days to die instead
Not if you're insecure about your creativity like me
Mods can be fun but honestly I thing just 0 mods is fun. Just play the latest version, start a survival mode, and have at it.
Play vanilla and don't look at any wikis or guides. Its the ideal way to play
To play Minecraft again for the first time....I truly envy you OP
>I've been playing on and off since 2011
Same honestly. Where did the time go bros?
It do be like that sometimes
The only possible reason why you would install mods for minecraft is if you already are obsessed with the game to the point that all you do is play it.
Minecraft is all about setting goals and moving forward and building bigger, the only thing mods do is add extra layers and objectives.
idk, play terraria first then everything about minecraft becomes shit
you realize truly how little content the game has after playing an actual game with game design involved like terraria
Terraria is fucking garbage
I disagree. It has actual progression whereas minecraft end game gear can be gotten in less than 10 minutes by digging straight down.
>endgame
>minecraft
The progression in Minecraft is that you have new ideas and you execute them.
pirate it op.
next year, the spiritual successor to minecraft will come out and it will be the definitive way to play a block survival game.
yeah minecraft can be beaten in less than 5 minutes
There's no "point" but it's probably the best 30$ you can spend on any game. You make the point.
Is minecraft a keyword that shillbots detect?
Unless you count beating the Ender Dragon as the "end" (which it isn't) Minecraft doesn't really have an end. You just do whatever forever until your save file gets corrupted or something
it rolls credits when you kill the dragon, so it is the end
endgame gear in minecraft pretty reliant on stacking enchantments up, which requires a ton of diamonds and lapis, which takes some pretty substantial effort to build up in decent amounts. Not to mention the Exp required. It's not really as simple as just getting diamonds, because unless you leverage it into more diamonds it'll run out.
...
I can't even imagine playing Minecraft with the goal of "beating it." It's like trying to beat Photoshop. Minecraft has no end, it's purely about thinking of creative ideas and realizing them. Any objectives in survival mode are purely to get the ball rolling if you don't immediately have an idea. If you try to complete an objective, you will build/gather things which will give you more ideas on what to build.
In many games, the credits roll when I select "credits" from the menu. Does that mean I beat the game when I do it?
