Why the FUCK are there so many Sonicfags youtubers that downplay Mania and say that this is the worst era of Sonic and defending shit like Heroes and The Secret Rings?

Sonic has always been a series predicated on an unholy union between blind consumerism and retarded contrarianism so you can farm clout in the Sonic community by defending dogshit games and finding hot takes to champion.

Mania wasn't made by Sonic Team and it wasn't a wholly unique game, we also have no idea if we'll get more games with a focus on the classic gameplay style
Heroes and Secret Rings, despite their faults, still have redeeming qualities
I can see people making this argument and honestly believing it but it is a trash tier opinion that encourages Sonic Team to make the same mistakes they've been making in 3D entries

They don't, Mania is the only game that's come out in the last 5 years that's worth a shit. Even in the time between Heroes and Colors you were still getting good games like the Rush and Riders games which at the very least kept Sonic relevant. After Generations, Sonic Team fumbled with Lost World, sat on their ass as the shit tier Boom games came out on who-gives-a-fuck hardware past it's expiry date destined to be dead on arrival and when the day came where they had to make a game for next gen consoles they missed the mark TWICE with Forces and TSR and while TSR actually looks decent it doesn't look like much of an improvement from the previous games.

So yes while the mid-late 2000s had a bunch of shitty games, they were necessary to get Sonic on the right track and even then there was shit coming out that wasn't just relegated to the fucking Wii U, a console nobody played. Now that they've lost their trump card and the boost formula is falling out of favor with the general public they're more fucked than they were before. The money sink that was boom did far worse that what 06 or "Sonic has a sword" did. it's not the 2000s anymore

TSR wasn't even made by Sonic Team, and even with its faults but it's still better than everything they made post Generations

Because Mania wasn't made by Sonic Team and those two games are better than the garbage they've been putting out for the past 6+ years

this. its sad how Sonic Team's practically run out of time when it comes to trying to innovate Sonic gameplay. but I don't expect them to change for the better. I see them continuing to sit on their laurels and make Boost Gameplay Game #5.
I don't care if the next Sonic game is SA3, SA Remake, or another (slight) deviation like Lost World. just anything but another boost game, please.
