why would the kokiri, who are generally all the same height, build such a tall counter for their shop? seems to me if they want to efficiently conduct business they would build a counter more suitable for persons of their size

Who would be buying shit anyway? Wasn't Link supposed to be the first Kokiri outside of the woods? At the very least, why would they need to buy anything if they just gathered there stuff from the forest anyway. Rupees seem like a Hylian invention

now another issue arises: why does the concept of "manhood" exist for the kokiri? aren't they all permanently "children"? Furthermore, their conception of "manhood" is inconsistent. The one in pic related insinuates that "manhood" is not attained until one obtains a fairy. However! In that same village, the female kokiri says you're a man merely for climbing up to reach her. So now we have two different conceptions of what it means to become a "man" in a society where everyone is in a permanent state of physical developmental stasis.

The store basically sells tourist trinkets. Outsiders come in and think "wow, a stick, a real piece of nature," and don't realize they can pick one off the ground for free. The only product that's not a scam is the shield.

I'm not making any claims as to there being some sort of hidden "depth" insofar as the height of the counter is concerned. I merely found the disparity between the height of the counter and the store clerk intriguing. I can't help but notice these things.
