What could Blizzard realistically do to make this game actually feel good to play no matter the role/character?

give ways to counter shields
the game is shit because of this shield meta, there's a reinhart in every fucking team, shit's boring

Make everyone faster. May need to rebalance abilities but christ it feels like walking through molasses with most characters

quite literally the slowest and clunkiest characters out of everyone in the game because they're specifically designed that way

being good at the characters has nothing to do with how good they feel to play
if they made a character with only one ability, and that ability was to instantly kill anyone they looked at, it wouldn't take long to master that, but it wouldn't be satisfying to play in the long run

Rein shield size reduced by 50%, can now be deployed while charging
Rein now 2 shots all dps
Tracer is now faster by like 70%
Genji faster by 40% and deals more melee damage
Mccree fan the hammer deals full damage but more spread, his normal shots recoil your aim 50 meters up and back
Increase all damage by like 30%
Winston new ability toss, like tiny in dota2
Remove or remake all supports and add pavise hp regen when not taken any damage for 6 seconds

i realize i just described widowmaker, but at least that takes aim, though one shots in this game shouldn't exist outside of ultimates and rein's charge anyway

Shields are the weakest they've ever been and echo counters shields pretty hard

Pretty much everyone but rein got their shield amount cut in half, it's pretty great

echo also gets countered hard by nearly every hitscan in the game right now, especially soldier now that his spread is gone

Blizzard likes to simplify, streamline things. They're afraid of complexity. See HotS, that game has no fucking items and everyone levels up together.

I have 1.2k hours in this game and pretty much know how to properly utilize every hero, I got all the gameplay mechanics figured out and if I'm losing it's not because of the game but because I'm not playing in the right way

And the game is fixed.

If you wanted this game to be enjoyable to play on a casual level you need to either add official proper casually balanced modes or completely rework the game from scratch.
Overwatch's problem is foundational. The game is built for competitive and built to encourage you to play as a team, so you end up with this frustrating dynamic where everyone just groups up into this massive deathball and everyone has escape and CC abilities to frustrate and prevent you from snagging any kills. Maybe I'm out of touch, but the #1 frustration I hear is that the game really doesn't want solo players to excel on skill alone.

Ashe and Mccree have way more burst, even with the change in recoil/spread for soldier I still think he is just not worth it because he lacks reliable burst

i have the same amount of playtime and also know how to "properly utilize every hero". believing every loss is your fault means you're literally ignoring your teammates, thus likely causing more problems than you're solving my ramboing every match
"you are the least common denominator" is the worst advice to give someone in a game HEAVILY designed and marketed around teamwork

There is nothing blizzard can do to fix Overwatch because Overwatch is the product of broken design ideologies that have dominated Blizzard for a decade.

As long as Kaplan is in charge there is no hope for Overwatch. Its legacy will be one of mediocrity and porn

>Turn all the tanks into dps heroes with some defensive abilities
>Turn all the healers into dps heroes with some healing abilities
>Drop the fucking chokepoint map design and give players some flanking routes
>Give everyone a bit more mobility
In short, rework it into more of a shooter and less of a League of Legends teamfight wannabe.
The teamwork shit has a niche but at the end of the day it's just frustrating to be forced into a healer or tank role. People play shooter games to shoot people, so why not focus on that experience? Make everyone into a decent skirmisher who can hold their own if they play their cards right, and make the maps reward good positioning and shooting instead of forcing people to play chokepoints. Watching several instances of 2-3 good players pulling out all the stops to kill each other is way more interesting than watching 6 koreans coordinate a Q press anyway.

it's actually completely opposite, if you're blaming your teammates for losing it means you're the one who's ignoring teammates because you think you're playing as best as you can but the fact is you don't, if you blame yourself then you're gonna look for new solutions, new strategies which might lead to your team getting ahead

role queue

1 Tank per team and 1 extra dps, but buff the shit out of the Tanks. Make them feel like powerful bosses that require multiple dps to take down. Then tanking will actually be fun and you can play dps more which is also more fun. it also solves the shield spam issue
