I thought he was a cool boss and I liked him, but the fight itself was kind of garbage. I guess I'm loq IQ because I didn't figure out the gimmick to damaging him until after like 10 minutes, and I think the entire fight took me 25-30 minutes. I just kept healing and dodging attacks until I could figure out what I was suppose to do to damage him.

There was some other gimmick though. Its hinted at when you analyze him you can only hit him after doing specific thing. I cant even remember what it was and I did this fight like a week ago. God what a disappointing game.

The dog heals Rufus? I mean, it's been awhile, so maybe I did take out the dog first but that wasn't the only thing you had to do to damage Rufus. There was some other gimmick, like you had to parry his bullets or attack him while he was reloading or something? I just didn't figure that out right away, because my attacks weren't doing any damage to him at first until I figured out you had to attack him in a certain window or do something to make him vulnerable to damage.

I think this is what I did. I used Braver on him while he reloaded. He was vulnerable while reloading I remember that much.

You do realise that there is more than one way to play a game? Holy shit, casuals are really something else.

During the dog battle, you have to break the link between rufus and the dog so the dog gets pressured. There are three ways:

Use an ability/damage rufus heavily (triple slash work wonders)
Parry or block some dog attacks (it triggers special block animations, like trying to parry the corckscrew animation) putting the dog on pressure
You can sleep or stop rufus to break the link too, putting on pressure.

Once killing the dog, the real battle begins.

Braver and limit breaks put him on pressure immediately. You can either sleep him or stop him to keep it still, but it only works once.
You can attack a couple of times during his reload times before he activates his counter again. However, the braver animation takes too long if you braver after attacking during his reload. it is not enough time.

So the idea is to block/dodge his attacks, predict his reload and braver his ass.
