New game bad
Really hate how little decent feral art she gets.
Yes.
>new Zig Forums bad
>Old Zig Forums good

life was always better when it was simpler
and before the retard says would i rather be a caveman?
yes you fuck i would love to go around with a club beating up local tribes and animals
>New game
>Olde game
Literally every single franchise in existence, I can't think of ONE exception
name one series where this isnt the case
drakengard/nier?
Automata pales in comparison to the original Nier. It's still good, but it's definitely a dip. The whole series is a fucking zig-zag really
>YoU cannot possibly dislike the new. It's NEW. Therefore improved and good. How dare you have opinions & feelings about change.
b b but graphics!
They forget that 99% of games back then were just as shit as today's
"survivor bias" theory is a retarded meme that has no basis in reality.
SUPERHOT.
If you go back in time you'll see I'm right. For every Super Mario World there were 100 shitty mascot games
>opinions
>opinions
Typically, yes.
Yes.
Did you have to specify feral art? I don't think I've ever seen an anthro picture of her. I'd be down with either honestly
I haven't got a convenitent visual exaple for vidya, but this reatded theory gets invoked with music all the time, always with some dumb variation of "le wrong generashun!" even though it is a blatantly observable fact that music indeed has gone to shit when you compare the decades within the same level of mainstream presense.

Any time I see anyone use the "survivorship bias" platitude I instantly dismiss the person as a moron and his opinion on just about anything as utterly worthless.
Yes, and?
New games are designed to pander to the lowest common denominator and rather than making something fun that will be remembered for years to come like developers back in the late 80s, 90s, and early-mid 2000s, developers would rather use their resources to make a soapbox to stand on ao they can peddle their personal politics and demonize dissenting opinions. There is also an increasingly popular trend in releasing an unfinished game and relying on microtransactions and DLC to finish it. Top that off with the advent of digital only consoles where you don't own any games and the company can ban you for wrongthink via their CCP tier spyware baked into the OS and hardware.
If you play new video games you are either a massochist whos pastimes include wasting money and being disappointed, or flat out retarded. Old games have none of the things listed above. Old games are designed for people who play games and they lack the developer's personal politics. A game's quality was measured on how fun it was to play. Most of Sega's hardware were financial failures, but the Saturn and Dreamcast are both remembered for their excellent libraries. Nobody will return to Bloodborne, or Halo 5, or Animal Crossing New Horizons or Fallout 76, or No Man's Sky in 10 years because this is a bad era for video games. Tl;dr old game IS good, and new game IS bad.
>"change is good. it can never be for the worse. don't you just love how games receive patches to shake things up instead of staying stagnant?"
>"how dare you like old stuff, new is always better"
>"look at new games' budget it will blow your shitty old games out of the water"
>"we're in $CURRENT_YEAR, stop playing that old trash, it's outdated"
all shitty arguments that rely on false premises.
>and relying on microtransactions and DLC to finish it
mods (for PC), or patches
Disprove it, cuck.
And nice old movie jpg, you retard.
Persona
>new bad
>old bad
I guess you're right.
forgot to reply to also forgot an "or" before mods.
the difference is that unless a game were a glitchy mess it often had some substance to it and you could still get some mileage out of it. nowadays games are pumped full of eyecandy and filler, and pull all sorts of devious shit just to keep you playing, on top of often being unfinished.
Yes.
>New bad
>Newer bad
>old bad
>new worse
>art critics can enjoy old artwork
>film buffs can enjoy old movies
>musical artists are inspired by old songs
>zoomers refuse to touch any game older than they are unless it gets an unnecessary remake on their modern consoles
Why can’t you underaged little shits just admit that your generation of gaming is soulless?
