I'm the dude who imported Demon's from China when it was new and relatively unknown and thought it was a neat little game, even though I never played much Souls after that.

You don't get to tell me what made the original great after having your opinion flavored by modern garbage. I was there playing it at a time when it was novel, and when we were really scrutinizing it as its own thing as opposed to "is this really a "dark souls" game" like that means anything. To us, it was just some weird ass RPG that had the unique quirk of existing during the internet and yet there was still very little information about the later areas floating around. Anons were legit posting screencaps from the walkthrough to help people. So yeah, I am special. You zoomer fucks take all this shit for granted and implant your own ideas as to why these old games are good then get mad when people like me disagree.
