In fact I spent every year on my birthday in the lab working in assignments or studying for finals 10-12 hours since my birthday is in April

Do your assignments directly after class and study for one hour each day. Then there will be no rush, no all-nighters and no crunch.
If you majored in an actual subject you're fucked regardless.
