Sonic Heroes was already adventure 3. Sega even groups them together.

focus on making the sonic gameplay the best it can be before working on other characters. have an interesting plot that takes itself seriously but doesnt collapse into retarded cringe like 06, encourage replayability, artstyle somewhere inbetween heroes and SA1.

Remove all the non-Sonic levels for a start.

Basically take the trick system from SA2 and expand on it. Have trick-able ramps and surfaces everywhere and pulling off more complex tricks (not merely the single one from jumping) gives you more air time, giving you access to upper routes. Then, apply Final Rush's level design to every single speed level.

All characters and levels plays like sonic with minor variations

Sonic '06, except fix the bugs. Why couldn't they just keep working on the game and fix the bugs and optimize the loading screens? It's not like there is a whole bunch of shitty early access games out there that release unfinished. I guess Japs still have that mentality that if its released and shipped in a buggy state, they just abandon ship.

you're on the right track. different objectives are still a good idea, just not slow treasure hunting or fishing

I have the BEST pitch for Sonic Adventure 3:

1. Game will be Rated M.

2. Sonic will be more cocky than usual, and swears more often.

3. Dr. Eggman is now Jewish, just so Sonic can call him "Dr. Jew".

4. Shadow says "nigger" and "faggot" at every chance he gets, with also cracking school shooter jokes every fucking time he shoots a bullet from his guns.

5. Rouge's titties are fatter.

6. Amy is a total slut; Her skirt is shorter, her hair is longer, and she has way more makeup on, Sonic also acts like a tsundere towards her every time she talks to him.

7. Blaze is only there for the other characters to make fun of her with her flat breasts.

8. Cream is now a background character and doesn't speak whatsoever.

9. Yuij Naka returns, but only as a small cameo.

Shame Hunnid-P is never returning. We need more stage music by him

Fishing for Froggy was the best, go fuck yourself.

You had your adventure 3 not once but twice. Sonic 06 and sonic unleashed.

Everyone's goal is to run to the fucking goal while platforming. Each character is as fast as Sonic like in the classic games, but they all bring their own little move set. No boost shit either and no 2D sections. None of that emerald hunting, froggy fishing, gun shooting, slow-as-fuck-Amy-Rose shit either. Just destroy badniks, do some platforming, and run fast to the goal and occasionally a boss battle and throw in a special stage and bonus stage if you want idc.

Hunting emerald shards with knuckles in SA1 is literally the best gameplay 3D Sonic ever offered

One of the best parts about Adventure 2 was that each character had a foil - For example: Sonic with Shadow. If they do Adventure 3 it would be cool if each character gets a foil. That way all the characters actually have a reason for being there

As janky as it is, Sonic Heroes had the right idea about dividing the cast into Speed, Flight and Power (Glide) archetypes. Heroes had the wrong idea, however, of using mostly for it's shitty combat sections.

I said this last time I replied to one of these threads, Sonic Team needs to do more with the trick system. It's very underutilized in SA2.
