By that point it was too late. The Patriarch had already begun utilizing his creations to pillage and kidnap for more experiments. Resources were essentially limitless at that point, but without worldwide resistance and knowledge.

Horzine's staff was mostly oblivious to what was happening beneath them on the lower levels. It was only when The Patriarch was created that many of them started asking questions and jumping ship.
Supposedly the staff began disappearing before Dr. Clamely's modifications and fled to report their issues to the government.
Horzine is allowed to operate as is because it is comprised of scientists that know the most information about battling the Zeds. Dr. Clamely founded the company but those remaining are focused on stopping his world domination out of guilt and duty.

The original Kevin is hidden away from all the action. Whenever he upgrades himself he updates the cloning blueprints.
There is a original Patriarch that has an unknown location. He dispatches his clones to fight while he himself avoids being killed. He also has dormant clones all over the world so KF 3 will likely have maps all over the world instead of Europe.

Horzine is comprised of Scientists that worked under Dr. Clamely. The world governments are funding them because they are the most knowledgeable people on Earth when it comes to Zeds. It is why every mercenary fighting the Zeds is considered an employee and gets to use trader pods.
Horzine is a force for good now. The Patriarch resents this but appreciates how effective their technology can be.

They aren't zombies. They are mutants with mind control tech created by a mad scientist obsessed with cloning his dead son. This scientist was named Kevin Clamely and began cloning them for his own army. When he began doing this he recruited an old graduate friend of his named Hans Volter to aid in more effective killing machine creation.
Initially they were part of a government funded super-soldier program. After funding was cut he went mad and began illegally acquiring resources while lying to his remaining staff.

Shortly after he amassed an army he genetically and cybernetically enhanced himself with said staff and created a blueprint for a clone based on himself that could command and lead large groups of the mutants. He named himself and his clones "The Patriarch".

Note:
The bloat is not a mutant, and is infact a kidnapped survivor that has been pumped full of a failed weight loss drug that mutates their innards and rots their brain. With a chip installation they can be very effective shock trooper units.

The Patriarch gives them out because he thinks it's funny.

Horzine initially created robotic soldiers to fight the mutant army when the government began funding them(D.A.R.) but The Patriarch began stealing and repurposing them for combat droids. He created a new version of them and manufactures them alongside his clones.

It's a terrible addition and I would give anything for them to be a variant of mutant. Enemies that don't bleed in a game like this is a terrible idea and I want whoever pushed for them to be added executed for crimes against fun.

pretty cool thread I didn't know KF had a continuous story. I knew some of the backstory but never realized it continued throughout the maps and both games. very neat.

They still have the same lore it's just that now the Matriarch is the one responsible for them which is stupid and gay. The entire Matriarch lore is absolute nonsense and is definitive proof that KF 3 is going to suck dick.
