Yeah it was a pretty good WAD all things considered. While the hell levels kinda sucked the bit with the tortured marines in that level was pretty effective at making me hate the demons again

Doom 1 the maps actually flow, connect and feel like you're progressing through a location. In Episode 1 you actually felt like with each map you were moving through a moon base.
Doom 2 just feels like a random map pack someone assembled with downloads from a BBS server.

i wish Doom 1 and Sigil had the SS and new enemies at least.

While I agree that the SSG and the new enemies are great additions, I think Sigil works perfectly as a continuation of Doom 1 and wouldn't change anything about it.

Are there any good long megawads? Story optional, Also I prefer killing lots of lower level enemies rather than groups of 20 barons of hell if that's something people do

The fuck? Arachnotrons are great. Threatening enemies with an immensely satisfying death animation and sound. Also easy to get infighting with them. Pain elementals are a different story, however.

I never finished doom 2, I just hate the bland maps and annoying enemies, doom 1 is a masterpiece, doom 2 is a power trip with bloated everything

They burn through your health really quickly on nightmare and they're hard to dodge because they shoot so much

However, fuck revenants, all my homies hate revenants

The chain gunners are the real enemies of doom. They will fuck you up if placed well and left in there little corner.

I do like the ssg and some of the new monsters
