Money talks, kiddo
Money talks, kiddo
If this actually happened + robust keyboard/mouse support you literally have to be a retard to not get it, unless you already have like a $1700 (most don't).
>being able to play hzd on series x at 4k 60fps vs 1440p 50fps on ps5
why is the Xbox logo in black and white?
Bros, I'll finally be able to play RPG maker hentai games on my XBox.
He said he was in a zoom call with Phil Spencer and Gabe Newell. This must be legit.
*$1700 PC
>been able to play runescape on my Series X
Inject that shit right into my veins
Cross over steam library and i would buy an xbox
>X_gamer_kid
I don't see it happening in the sense you want it too, unless microsoft wants to make online free when in steambox mode.
Pffff sure kid.
Dunno, Xbox is a Windows machine but with how much 3rd party shit you have to install in order to run videogame, not to mention the openness of Steam, I doubt that it will happen.
The call is real, it was on Zig Forums yesterday. Everything else is pure imagination.
this was just about microsoft releasing their games on steam, which isn't new
>zoom call with phil and gaben
>x_gamer_kid
>french
try harder
So you're saying I can play Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding and future Sony ports on Xbox Series X if they're released on Steam?
>Microsoft buys Valve.
>Steam gets rebranded.
>Microsoft moves all game items to the rebranded Steam.
>Pushes more Xbox GamePass and xCloud.
Still waiting for Gears of War UE and Gears of War 4 to make the jump to Steam.
The call that Gabe and Phil-senpai had was because they were invited to a Game Awards related videocall, they didn't discuss anything (that we know of)
every day it becomes more and more a PC for stupid people. they even made it look like a computer tower. you'd have to be really fucking stupid to buy one of these if you own a computer
If Xbox seriously allows steam support, then snoy is dead.
I'm guessing they'll only allow Steam for games which arn't in the xbox library?
Xbox has native support for direct x and almost 100% of steam games require it to play, i don't see that being a issue.
> (OP)
Most people don't have a decent gaming computer let alone one that compete with series x.
How would CRPGs or RTS games work on a controller?
I don't care about most people, you're on Zig Forums. you should know more about this hobby than the average retard. chances are all you guys are posting from a computer this very minute. just upgrade the parts, boom youre done. I just can't get into the heads of people that purport to know their stuff, and will buy a fisher price version of a computer in 2020
This is actually a galaxy brain move.
All those *also on PC games?
**also on Xbox.
>a whole fucking new ecosystem of games
>not bigger than bethesda
what
do people like skyrim that much
Valve would love this, since it's gives them a solid steambox, but at the same time, there's no way for this to be a free lunch for valve, and they're seriously worried about microsoft building a closed garden.
This makes no sense for microsoft as it undermines gamepass, game sales to recoup on selling xbox at a loss, their closed garden strategy, their performance advantage (steam games will still be windows based, so they'll need the various windows libraries, which means perf loss), and it opens up xsx to all sorts of attack vectors for hackers.
>X_gamer_kid
oh.
>tfw you will never be in a zoom call with Trump and Putin
There is more to games than DirectX and I am not even talking about just graphics APIs like OpenGL. Drivers, libraries, whatever the fuck else. Although I guess if Proton can run them then Microsoft should have zero issues implementing some native solution.
Joder jolines santa cachucha tío
All Microsoft needs to do is open a Windows 10 mode on the SeX and drop a shit ton of money on anti cheat and XBL integration for steam.
If they do that than Sony won't be able to coast off movie games again and will have to innovate.
>you will never be a traitor to your nation
feels great man
Was moot invited??
>Microsoft actually using Zoom
>move steam to windows store instead
would be hilarious

my dad works for xbox
> microsoft employee allowed to use anything but Skype
Well, not bad. Imagine a 2070 tier pc for 500 bucks. Its great value. Luckily I own a 1500 bucks pc but no one cant deny a 2070 with a very small factor case for 500 bucks is not a great deal.
this makes no sense because that would eat into their own marketshare unless gabe agreed to give them a cut of every game sold, which he wouldn't. this sounds like more of a steamVR collaboration with half life alyx debuting on console on xbox.
I'm on a surface right now friend. Even someone who is really into gaming could see the insane value of the series x if this were to happen. Sure stuff like modding still won't be there to the same extent, but that's an even deeper niche within the gaming niche. You can get an insanely cheap PC that can do everything but game and get the Series X for "no bullshit" gaming. This is basically how PC gaming came back, by catering to people used to console-style games and controller support, basically offering an experience analogous to consoles merge into the PC gaming ecosystem. Having steam and KB/M support would be xbox doing the same in reverse.
I have a nice PC but I still kinda wanna get series x. Should I just get ps5 for ghost of tsushima 2 and spiderman 2 or what?
>still pushing gamepass
It's going to collapse just like netflix did. It's not a sustainable model.
>>Microsoft buys Valve.
I fail to see what kind of offer Microsoft could make to Gabe that would be better than owning Steam.
Not saying that the Twitter faggot ain’t larping but it’s not an internal meeting so it’s very feasible that zoom would be used instead of Skype/Teams
everything you're saying only makes sense in a world where PC gaming isn't heads and shoulders the best option
>get the Series X for "no bullshit" gaming
like what, paying to use your own internet? being outdated within 2 years when they release the "slim edition"? PC gaming is the no bullshit version. I went 9 years without changing a single part, and piracy has gotten so easy now that it's a simpler process than buying a game off steam.
They need to make the xbox run Windows.
If they do, it's game over for snoys.
I mean,
when you think about it everything adds up
>gaben tried to do steam boxes and failed miserably
>gaben favoured the series x over ps5 for seemingly no reason when asked about it
>in the same interview he reiterated "we have no horse in that race" highlighting they COULD have it if they had a platform to use
>microsoft games are on steam already
>series x is basically a prebuilt steambox already but with more support
>gaben is in a good relationship with microsoft and has worked there before so he probably knows phil well
>xbox is now not just a console but a family of devices that supports pc just like steam
granted, my steam library is nothing to write home about but knowing I could play the games I own on PC on a hypotetical xbox console would be a huge incentive to buy one
age of empires 3 is coming to xbox, we'll see then
It just has to run proton. Xbox SeX is a steambox.
>but knowing I could play the games I own on PC on a hypotetical xbox console would be a huge incentive to buy one
my brain is rattling trying to parse this. you already are playing the games on PC, and you would feel *incentivized* to pay 500 dollars to play them on a lesser platform? what the fuck?
I have a PS4 but I'd say no. Spiderman was an 8/10, sushi was a 7/10, GOW was a 8.5/10, and Bloodborne was a 9.5/10.
Sushi 2 and Spiderman 2 aren't worth a 500 dollar console, maybe get a PS5 when they are 200-300 dollars
>X_gamer_kid
thanks for the laugh
