BABBY'S FIRST BAD GAME

What was your first truly bad game?

I think I was 9 when I got pic realated for christmas. I was still new to the concept of a "bad game," so I didn't understand why I wasn't enjoying playing it.
I genuinely thought there was something wrong with me for a while until I finally gave up and put a different game in.

Even as a kid I could tell it was garbage

this is by far the worst game I have ever played

hey the minigolf in that game was fun
that was all i ever did

Probably this.

>hey the minigolf in that game was fun that was all i ever did
You're damn right that was the oasis in that shitstain of a game.

Enemies don't flinch when you hit them, so actually playing it like a beat-em up is not viable. It also takes forever to load, on a fucking cartridge.

I honestly didn't even know Captain America had is own video game.

Probably Starshot, but I didnt know it was a bad game back then

Quest 64 probably wasn't my first truly awful game but it sticks out in my mind.

The arcade game is genuinely great, but it has awful translations. There's a robot octopus enemy called Giant Taco.

Unironically Superman64. I remember that being the first time having renters remorse, my weekend was fucking ruined I knew I should have got Mickey speedway again

Protip, you have to just rapidly tap the fly button rather than hold it, it's actually pretty controllable that way.

Bought Ever Grace at a flea market and hated my whole playthrough.

got this instead of tony hawk. I dont know if I would call it "truly bad" but I remember playing it about 20 minutes then quitting.

I rented Superman 64 from Blockbuster when I was a kid. I don't remember much about it except for flying through rings for some reason.

The company behind it later made Fitness Boxing

That twisted metal star wars game.

Quest 64 was fun though. I loved the magic system.

this is a game from a different, cold dimension

Probably actually giant tako since tako is jap for octopus and I'm assuming this game was from Konami or something.

Got this game after playing BFBB as a kid. Biggest letdown of my life back then

Data East, and yeah it's supposed to be Tako but it's a direct translation so it's Taco instead of Octopus.

Of course I didn't actually realize it was terrible until years later, but when I did it all made sense.. Brings back memories though for sure. I remember getting a gameboy one christmas, I was so little at the time I can barely remember. But I had that power rangers time force game which was actually pretty fucking rad.

Really gotta appreciate my parents sometimes, they weren't perfect but they tried to get me cool shit for christmas. Fucking Zig Forums getting me all nostalgic and sentimental.

I have a weird sense of nostalgia for it too for some reason, even though it wasn't great

This piece of shit. Was boring as fuck and the combat system was lame.

Was this game really that bad? I remember the Shooting Gallery and Bumper Cars being absolute jank.

But the Reptar vs. Robosnail was some boss ass shit.

I think it was this pace of shit.

I remember really wanting a spongebob game for a while and I have no idea why. I was extremely lucky that BFBB was the one I'd specifically asked for, even though I knew there were a few others out there.

I fucking loathe this game.

Ninja kid on NES. I remember getting this game on christmas. thought it looked cool. played it a few times, i thought it sucked so i threw it away.
my mom got mad at me for doing that.

>But the Reptar vs. Robosnail was some boss ass shit.
That was just the final boss and it was like a few minutes long. It wasn't terrible, but you literally had to beat the rest of the game to get there.

Mfw this looked like a fucking awesome game to me at the time, but I was a kid and couldn't just get any game I wanted.
Looking back at it, it seems to have really impressive technology for a ps1 game and it could've been good but (this is coming from that ex travelers tales dev who's YouTube channel name I forgot) but the publisher fucked them over and made them use controls like in tomb raider

I didn't specifically ask for BFBB either, just got lucky with what was picked out for me. Come to think of it, my parents had pretty good luck picking out games that were gifts for me considering they had almost no knowledge of what was "good". Never really got much shovelware

Off-topic since I wasn't a kid, but I once picked up X-Men for Genesis thinking it was this game: youtube.com/watch?v=SsHjkgFY-j0
I didn't realize there was a sequel. Unfortunately the first one was just not good at all. Extremely disappointing.

>that mother fucking soundtrack

I think it's our former Funcoland employees we have to thank for that.

Thats tough I liked all my games. Even Twisted Metal 4 was fun bc it was my first game of thar series

Weird cuz I liked the PS1 version as a kid

Buy a cleaning kit

20 years later, it turns out rubbing alcohol and wipes was the ideal solution to getting your games to work again after years and years of the contacts oxidizing.

I got this in a 4-for-$10 pack

it also came with this

Bubsy 3D. My dad got it for me in 2004 or something, and playing it legitimately gave me motion sickness.
