I think I was 9 when I got pic realated for christmas. I was still new to the concept of a "bad game," so I didn't understand why I wasn't enjoying playing it. I genuinely thought there was something wrong with me for a while until I finally gave up and put a different game in.
The arcade game is genuinely great, but it has awful translations. There's a robot octopus enemy called Giant Taco.

Unironically Superman64. I remember that being the first time having renters remorse, my weekend was fucking ruined I knew I should have got Mickey speedway again
Of course I didn't actually realize it was terrible until years later, but when I did it all made sense.. Brings back memories though for sure. I remember getting a gameboy one christmas, I was so little at the time I can barely remember. But I had that power rangers time force game which was actually pretty fucking rad.
Really gotta appreciate my parents sometimes, they weren't perfect but they tried to get me cool shit for christmas. Fucking Zig Forums getting me all nostalgic and sentimental.
I remember really wanting a spongebob game for a while and I have no idea why. I was extremely lucky that BFBB was the one I'd specifically asked for, even though I knew there were a few others out there.
Ninja kid on NES. I remember getting this game on christmas. thought it looked cool. played it a few times, i thought it sucked so i threw it away. my mom got mad at me for doing that.
>But the Reptar vs. Robosnail was some boss ass shit. That was just the final boss and it was like a few minutes long. It wasn't terrible, but you literally had to beat the rest of the game to get there.
Mfw this looked like a fucking awesome game to me at the time, but I was a kid and couldn't just get any game I wanted. Looking back at it, it seems to have really impressive technology for a ps1 game and it could've been good but (this is coming from that ex travelers tales dev who's YouTube channel name I forgot) but the publisher fucked them over and made them use controls like in tomb raider
I didn't specifically ask for BFBB either, just got lucky with what was picked out for me. Come to think of it, my parents had pretty good luck picking out games that were gifts for me considering they had almost no knowledge of what was "good". Never really got much shovelware

Off-topic since I wasn't a kid, but I once picked up X-Men for Genesis thinking it was this game: youtube.com/watch?v=SsHjkgFY-j0 I didn't realize there was a sequel. Unfortunately the first one was just not good at all. Extremely disappointing.
Thats tough I liked all my games. Even Twisted Metal 4 was fun bc it was my first game of thar series
Weird cuz I liked the PS1 version as a kid

20 years later, it turns out rubbing alcohol and wipes was the ideal solution to getting your games to work again after years and years of the contacts oxidizing.
