The performance is still fucking ass even on a new PC and the controls can be very clunky. Parkour really isn't as good as people say.
That said the bugs are fixed, and the game is worth playing for the city alone. Atmosphere just walking around in the streets is top-tier. Also has the best assassination missions of the entire franchise. It's definitely worth a pirate

There are several entire nations whose existence I think would surprise the hell out of you.

The first game was the only one about actually assassinating people.
Every subsequent game became less and less about that until AC4 where you're not even an assassin, you're a pirate, man.

Forgot about that. The first few AC games were so into historical accuracy that they would even put bits of encyclopedic reading material for every location, historical figure, religious objets d'art, etc, just in case you needed a refresher on your history.
