Stardew Valley

How's things going for people who play this?

Who do you generally marry?
How's your farm coming along?
Which mods do you like to use?
What things are some of your favorite?

>Abigail
>no farm. only wine
>stardew fatty
>architecture

enjoyed it at first, then grew to realize that it's janky indie shit, and that's not an excuse.
>artwork is garbage
>world isn't charming, and is a slog to walk through
>swinging sword locks you in a direction and takes and hour to let you swing in a different direction
>right clicking holding a sword locks you in position to guard... even though you were trying to click on a door to open
>cursor is based on tiles but animals move all over the place making it obnoxious to click on the right one, especially when they're near one another, then throw in the fact that you eat what's in your hand or guard with your sword if the game doesn't like where you clicked
>villagers like stupid items and they all like the same dumb shit for no reason
>events are soulless
>fishing is ass
>combat is ass
>jack of all trades ass, and barely mediocre at all of them
i can rant for days.
stuck playing this because there hasn't been a good harvest moon since gameboy/snes/n64.

This game and Rimworld taught me to ignore overwhelmingly positive Steam reviews

I tried to get into it when it first came out. 10 minutes in and I'm still reading cutscene dialog while watching 50 fade to blacks. Closed it.

this game was only memed to popularity by women.

How much does Stardew Valley Expanded help the game?

I can ignore all of that, the real issue is the teenager-y writing.

Such as?

The love interests feel very teenager-y. That's it. Most of the townspeople are pretty one dimensional as well.

>can ignore shitty controls that you experience every five seconds
>cant ignore dialog by mindlessly skipping through it
???

It doesn't. Highly overrated.

Was going to give it a try, but I heard it was buggy as shit.

>it's impossible to get used to controls, even if they suck
dude, I've been playing it for a while now.

I want to marry Marnie, but the game doesn't let me!

Tim was right, reviews are unnecessary garbage.

shit taste

Use mods. You can marry literally anyone you want with them. Can also just edit the game yourself.

What map do you anons use? I just started a save with a modded one, but I usually do standard.

>playing for a while
>still reading the dialogue
???

Standard is for weenies. My current one is mountaintop, but the forest farm is the comfiest one.

>not getting immersed in the simple life of a small town farmer

I tried forest once and the layout annoyed me. It did look better than standard though.

>being a small town farmer means being surrounded by flat and uninteresting personalities
this isnt new york city, user

whats the hurry for one new fish sprite and two new dialogs?

Immersive Farm 2

>Leah
>Great
>My own custom mods which change those 2 black characters into white people

multiplayer or single?

It can be used for both.

can i have the mod?

Yes, I'm asking which you do.

Have the better one.

Single because I have no friends who also play.

Will there ever be a stardew 2, or is concernedape just gonna keep updating the first one?

I think its adding a new farm, some new items and stuff to grow, and also split screen co op

I haven't played in ages. I feel like I pretty much exhausted to game after going through 3 and a half years, marrying Leah, divorcing her and marrying Abigail, getting a four-candle farm, restoring the community center, maxing friendship with everyone, and finishing the two caves.
And I did all that on Xbox
