That moment and Lucas showing up with dragos helped make Lucas one of my favorite vidya protagonists. Still prefer Ness though because 2's Magicant is the best part of the series for me.
Interesting, I always thought that mechanic was just a branching story thing that never got implemented. Just makes me wish we got a full version of Mother 3 or Mother 64 even more.
