Because it's easier to understand yakuza from a foreigner's perspective than the terms they use. That's why they also say "sir" for aniki instead of bro, when it's meant to be a more comradery-based addendum, versus, say, oyabun/kumicho (which they do use at certain points, but those are just translated as "sir" as well, or "boss")
To compare it to something more westerners/english speakers might understand, it's like how we call the italian mafia "the mob". they don't call themselves the mob. they have their own terms and usually refer specifically to their own organizations/groups/hierarchies, much like the yakuza in the games.
Also in japan saying "yakuza" is like a nono term nowadays, you use it and it spits on the group, the japanese government tried really hard to make "yakuza" a bad word that no one wants to associate with, not even the yakuza themselves.

just finished marathoning the entire series excluding 7 over the course of 3 weeks
pretty cool games not going to lie, 6 was kind of underwhelming and 3 was jarring but probably only because it's the oldest one, probably going to revisit most of them to finish up the substories at least
5 is the only one i actually did all the substories in before finishing the main story, really liked the characters in that one

3 is really REALLY jarring, even if you played the original versions of 1&2, it's very divisive because it created a lot of the systems that were refined and became staples but boy oh boy is it fucking ROUGH.
Also the english version is censored and gutted to high hell and back for some reason.
If you ever have the chance and a few hours, I'd highly recommend you try out the original 1&2 on ps2 if for no reason other than the hilarious dubs.

The remaster collection I imagine will make it's way over at some point. with 7 showing up I can't imagine they'll leave 6 out either, but it's for sure not coming till like 2022 at the earliest.
I think since kiwami 1/2 sold so well, we may even see an attempt at releasing them simul (for the west at least) on pc in future instances.
Me though? I just want dead souls and isshin.

I agree, but it's obvious they have no clue and had no intention of releasing it on pc originally by how slapdash the port for 0 was (it runs great don't get me wrong but there are a ton of rough edges). I think nowadays they've honed it a lot, ironically kiwami 2 runs like dogshit but besides that it feels a lot more like it was actually cared for indev.
But I know. I just KNOW, they're gonna put that dog shit HnK game on pc before anything else. And it was fucking terrible.

Saejima was only sentenced to whatever the max limit was which I think was in the 20ish year range. He also never killed anybody and all the stuff pointed to Katsuragi and Munakata after it came to light. At the end of 4 at best he has to deal with attempted murder as his charge and since the warden is entirely on his side paired with having Daigo pulling strings that's super easy to get out of which is why he's not worried about it in 5 and 6 was a setup anyway.
The letter is more that he expresses regret in ever getting Daigo into the Tojo Clan leadership to begin with rather than what happened in 4 specifically. So yes and no.
