his first phase has a lot of easy-to-parry attacks. for whatever reason, the runes that restore health/ammo are several times stronger. if you play your cards right you can get to phase 2 with full vials

I had more success just doing wide R1 attacks with a two handed weapon

Stay on top of him. He swings his weapon in huge arcs, so if you're close to him he leaves himself open a lot.
When he changes to his second form, you can run into the sea, it's more than shallow enough for you to walk in, and it's a lot more spacious and with less obstacles in the way. Being far away from Kos' corpse will give you more time to dodge the lightning as well.

go with whatever you're comfortable with. my first time with the Orphan i just got really good at phase 1 so i could afford more mistakes in phase 2
has good advice too

Remember visceral attacks.

His second phase is even easier to parry surprisingly enough.

Watch a video of someone doing parries, observe the right timings and you'll learn it's easy. He has that one leap attack that has a delay long enough for you to do a charge attack on his back and set up a visceral.
When he gets wings and start jumping all over the place is when things get hard but you can still parry him but a bad pistol shot can end your attempt.

didn't know that. i generally conflate "large enemy" with "unparryable" so i'll have to experiment some next time i fight him

His stagger window is pretty much "whenever he spergs out" and he does that a lot in the second phase.

I don't find him easier to stagger on the second stage, on the contrary. In general his parry is when he lifts up the club-placenta thing and is winding up to bring it down. On his second form he spends 70% of the time jumping around and screeching.

some say caus

Just keep at it, if I could beat him anyone can.

the most effective weapons against him are the whirligig saw and the axe. Whirligig saw will flinch him 100% of the time with a jump attack

tfw i beat him in 3 tries but ludwig/laurence took me forever. i seriously must have got lucky

I've never beaten Laurence solo and I refuse to, what a fucking annoying excuse of a boss. What the fuck were they thinking?

easy

a lot of what is and isn't easy in souls/bloodborne really just depends on who's playing. for example, i can deal with Ebrietas no problem, but get killed by the One Reborn way more often than the average player

>Kos
You people don't have enough insight.

is there anything explaining exactly why "some say Kosm"? seems like a really interesting bit of lore but i'm not aware of any explanation

you have to hit him until his life reaches zero, while also keeping him from hitting you, lest your life reach zero instead

Kosm for cosmos retard

how did you get this far without learning how to dodge and parry?

Stand in the water, it makes the fight way easier.

literally git gud

I legit did this first try by locking it down with the blunderbus. For some reason I can't beat this fucking ape in Sekiro NG+ though.

my question is why SOME say Kosm. why are there two names?

I had a harder time with Blood Starved Beast than any other boss in the game, including Orphan of Kos.

Because Burgertown was a school. These were academics debating the cosmos.

Ask Niggerman for help.

Don't dodge backwards
All of his attacks have a second attack that hits you if you dodge directly backwards
